Looks like a well loved car, interior is mint, so sad another written off. But on a slight positive, parts will be available for other owners?
Interior is gorgeous. Doesn’t look like a factory color so redone at some expense. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I really like the front bumper treatment on this US car. I wonder how he modified the rear? So, this car must be known. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Maybe bumpers shaped from wood? Could explain the wood debris noted by rifledriver above. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
A little surprised it was totaled as the damage doesn’t look terrible as long as the engine is okay. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Not surprised a bit. It takes far less to total one. Parts will take forever to get. Nearly all the sheet metal behind the doors needs replacement. The frame will need serious repair. It will be in a body shop in excess of a year and since it was rear ended it is a sure thing owner will clam loss of use and probably diminished value. Those 2 combined could equal value. Then there is the salvage value. Insurance companies have gotten smart about exotics. Cheaper to just write a check and auction it. For some time I have known if either the TR or 328 gets in more than a minor fender bender they will be gone.
Yeah, those bumpers used a wood core, the inside of the fiberglass skin (green) can be seen several places in the photo. Above the outside edge of the left tire is the corner of the bumper now standing vertically, the fiberglass skin is easy to see.
Less than 9K miles, if the odo is accurate. Interior looks like it. That frame is bent beyond repair. Sad. Something hit it hard from behind with nothing in front of the GT4. No secondary collision in front.
That’s a damn shame. It looks like it was a well loved car. I like the bumper treatment, if reversible. Lovely interior. The chassis number seems a little high for a ‘75, but I don’t have a list. It’s badged Ferrari but that might have been converted. If I’m reading the listing correctly, they’re asking $75,000 for that? How negotiable is Copart? I don’t know much about them.
Lots of good useable parts on that car, but very sad to see one go down like that. It seems $75k is a bit high for that.
Ouch !! This is now a parts car . If they are really are asking 75 k for this can, Im close to Long Beach, I could drop by and tell them they are just plain retarded if thats the case ! lol I would offer them 150 for each seat, but then again ...I feel bad for the owner of this machine, this is why I have become so afraid to even drive my 328 anymore. G
I've bought a few cars on copart and can tell you that $75k number is just the estimated value of the car if it were all in one piece and not smashed to hell. That auction is going to start at $0 and will go for whatever it goes for.
Listing says "run and drive". I wonder if that is a mistake, or this thing actually starts? I would have thought at least the rear exhaust manifold and the coolant tank were toast.
