    I bought a car at mecum auction. The girl in the back who was a temp employee told me to drive the car without a plate and get your plate when the new title comes.

    FYI Mecum does provide a plate if you live in the state where the auction is held.

    Anyway I found the corporate office of Mecum auction on Goggle. I called and they were very helpful. They sent me a temorary plate over the computer so I could not drive the car. They also mailed me a real plate with a few days. They were so helpful and seemed to feel bad and sorry I had this problem.

    You may try the same thing. FYI I have since bought 4 cars from Mecum. They are good people.
