I am trying to trace history of a 78 308 GTB that I bought. I have found where it was sold in 98 by Pennsylvania Motorsports, Ardmore PA. The vin is 25121. If anyone knows the car or Pennsylvania Motorsports, I would appreciate any info.
    Thanks,
    Eric

I live in that area and have never heard of Pennsylvania Motorsports, and I don't see it showing up in a google search. It isn't far down the road from this place: Tillson Motorcars, but they woudn't have called it by another name. I'd be cautious on this one....

Best of luck on your quest.

Since the sale was in 1998, perhaps they've shut down since then. Or maybe they're very small and low-key. If you call this Tillson place they might be able to provide some info.

I haven't had a chance to clean it up any yet. I had posted it earlier as "308 barn find". It went to a bank auction where I purchased it. The car shows 5000 miles, and so far the only history I have uncovered is from Ferrari Market Letter where the show it listed for sale in 98 with 3600 miles.

I've lived in the area all my life, and was attending Villanova University (right down the road from Ardmore) from '92 - '96. It's unlikely that a reputable place selling Ferraris was in Ardmore without me knowing about it. It would have to be a very private dealer, or a used car lot that happened to come across a 308, but they certainly weren't wide-spread or well known.

That would also be just down the road from Algar.... maybe they would be familiar with the place. Algar Ferrari of Philadelphia Dealership of High Performance Luxurious Ferrari Sports Cars and Service

Yah, I went to Nova also - just after you 96-00...Algar was *the* place. Loved seeing all the Ferrari's coming in on the carrier. ; ) Never heard of Pennsylvania Motorsports, but I didn't even own a car at the time, let alone a Ferrari ; )

Then you were an undergrad while I was doing my MBA there. Were you involved with the Villanova Car Club at all?

I was scanning through all the topics here and your "name" caught my eye.
STROSEK. Then looking at your photos, I see a custom Porsche I built MANY years ago!!
    Hense your Ferrarichat name "Strosek".
WOW! Cool to see it in your garage. Same color I painted it (Cadillac black cherry metallic)
along with the same cab. top cover with logo!!! I built that car in 1994/95. Do you know it's
history? I can tell who bought if from me. ;o)

Just did a double take.. I sold a 1984 GTB to a guy in Arkansas about a year ago.
Would have been unbelievable odds if it was you. Mine had 38K miles on it though.
I had to pause for a second when looking at your GTB photos, then noticing you're
located in Arkansas. Imagine those odds. Not so though.

Here's photo of your car at my shop.... 1994/95. Bought from me, by a
winner of the Superbowl that year... just a few weeks before the Superbowl.

He stopped by my house to pay for the car right after they played the
San Diego Chargers. I have his game worn jersey from that night... a few
weeks later they were playing the Chargers in the SuperBowl.

Does it still have it's B&B exhaust? That car sounded awesome... like a jet.
I had some fun in that car.

*Rob Lay: That remindes me... Your former Dallas Cowboy player Alvin Harper
still owes me a helmet and jersey from when he bought one of my custom 911's
and I gave him a few extras for free with a promise of the helmet & jersey.
    I'm still waiting.

Side Note: See Rob, I don't only abuse Ferrari's. No motor vehicle escapes my
tweaks. They CANNOT stay stock. My rule. Make them wide & drop them on the
    ground.

I have made a few changes to the car. The b&b exhaust has been replaced with a Fabspeed system. A blower has been added to the engine, and the interior has been redone. I have been trying to find the correct paint color for years.
I was aware that the car had been owned by Vanilla Ice, but did not know of a ball player.
I would be very interested in talking with you about the car. PM me a phone number if you would be willing to talk.

Will do. The paint color should/will be off a '94-'95 Cadillac. As the
color/code was picked from the brand new Cadillac dealer car lot.
Almost positive it was called black cherry. I could be wrong though.
If I had to guess the paint manufacturer I used back then: Should be
    Dupont Chromabase.

I remeber around that time there was a guy trading under that name in Ardmore, cannot rememeber the intersection but it was on the southern side of Rte 30 out of a large house with a circular driveway, pretty close to where the Lexus and Honda dealerships were located. He/they did some advertising in British mags like Classsic & Sportscar for a few years. Sold a variety of special interest cars, be it F-cars, MG's, TR's, 356's etc. I lived in Paoli at the time...the Mainline was a super hunting ground for cool cars. One day was going to Pep Boys to buy oil for my Alfa, heard an interesting sound and looked up to see a triple black Daytona Spider amble past. It had polished Borranis...totally delicious. From Bala Cynwyd all the way out through Malvern, that is one densely packed concentration of wealth and therefore seriously beautiful homes...and cars. Also some great shops, from aforementioned Algar to small joints like Nick Falcone's and Don Galbraith's. Great memories!

Thanks for the info. You are the first to remember anything about them. I am still hoping for a name or some other way to get in contact with the people in charge at that time.

I looked in old Classic & Sportscars and found in January 1991 issue Pennsylvania Motor Car Co, 1340-48 South Thirteenth St, Phila, phone 215 463-7800. In their ad, they had about 30 high-grade cars for sale, incl five Ferraris. The next oldest mag i could find is from 1996 and by then there were no more mention of this dealer. This is not the guy in Ardmore i was thinking of but may be what you're looking for. Best of luck, John.

PA Motorsports was a small used car dealership that dealt primarily with exotics. There were located in Ardmore above Wilkie Lexus, now home to Ardmore Toyota. They were only in business a few years in the mid to late 1990's. I believe the owners name was Peter Brotman.
