I just received a shipment today from BBR and have the factory built Red Bull 360's from Daytona 2004. The color they painted the model looks like a shade off from Ford Grabber Blue, non-metallic.

I know the 550 Red Bull cars are a metallic, but I can't quite figure out the color from any photo=s I have of the 360. And I have well over 100 pictures of the Red Bull 360. I did not see the car in person. But the pictures look different from shot to shot.

I wanted to build some in 24th but do not want to start unless I am sure of the color.

BBR usually does good reference but it wouldn't be the first time they are wrong...if they are wrong...which I'm not sure they are or aren't. I just don't know.

Anybody have a clue on this? Was anybody there at Daytona this year?

    Thanks

    Ed,

I want to make sure I understand your question.

Just to clarify, are you looking for the paint code for the blue Red Bull uses on the 360s? It's different than the 550 (metallic?) or, do you want pictures from Daytona?

Going from memory, I think the AB 550 is the correct colour while the BBR 360 is off.

I am hoping someone who was at Daytona and looked at the 360 up close could tell me if the color is a metallic blue or a non-metallic.

The shade is also important but I will work with the photo's I have. I think BBR captured the shade, but for some reason they felt it was a non-metallic as there built ups are non-metallic. I am sure the 550's are metallic. I have a clear enough picture of them to be able to tell. I also have many pics of the 360 and even the pics in this thread can not confirm its a metallic or not. The particular shade of blue will not necessarily photograph as a metallic even if it was and may look like a metallic even if its not. I have some very close up shots but they do not help.

Pictures are so hard to go by. They will vary in shade also depending on lighting. Thats why I'm hoping someone was there and can tell me.

If someone knows the correct paint code for the 360's that would be fine. You can't go by BBR's as they will tell you what they used (unless they know for certain). If soemone here knows for sure what the paint code is, that would be helpful.

    Thanks again,
    Ed

Also the AB 550 is similar in color to the BBR 550's so I'm sure thats right for that car. I am also sure BBR thinks there 360 is correct. The only reason this is bugging me is because I was pretty sure it WAS a metallic but BBR threw me a curve today and I just want to get it right before I get the cars painted. I figured it was a lighter blue and that was making the photo's hard to read.

    Hello Ed,
First of all I can confirm the 550 Red Bull is metallic. I almost sat on the hood ! Regarding the 360 at Daytona, I'm 95% sure it is a metallic blue. I have studied for hours all the pictures I could find. I can also tell you that Scale Production from Germany is selling the right color for airbrush. I know that Michael won't accept to sell it to you (no paint to USA) but I can buy it for you and ship it, if interested.
    Philippe,
    Belgium.
