    Good morning,

As some of you may know, my 275, #7511, has had a 4 cam engine installed in it and I was wondering if anyone knew the current whereabouts of the donor car, #9779. The information I have so far is listed below. Any additional information regarding where it is now, current condition or any history beyond being wrecked and parted out in roughly 1969 would be greatly appreciated.

    Couleurs: Azzurro 105- A-32 /pelle nera 8500
    Moteur 1506 - Boite 236/ I/R - scocca 81
Vendue neuve à Chinetti - Immatriculation en Italie 1995 (Randaccio)

    Gorgeous car, congratulations.

Chances are if no one got back to you here so far the donor car no longer exists...

Thirty years ago Francois Sicard hard the frame and skeleton from a 275GTB/4 sitting in his front yard. It may have belonged to Chinetti Jr. if I'm remembering correctly. I know nothing else about the car other than it burned severely somewhere in Connecticut. I did not get close enough to see the chassis number.

"Vendue neuve à Chinetti - Immatriculation en Italie 1995 (Randaccio)"

According to this information, it was licensed in Italy in 1995 by a gentleman name Randaccio. Hopefully someone out there might know what happened since 1995 or could at least corroborate its existence in Italy at that time.

I might well be that a car has assumed the identity of one thought to be destroyed?

Ok. I am trying to piece together and clear up the history of my car/engine. Based on your report on #7511, in the beginning of the 2000's, a car, possibly similar to mine, with engine #97xx was sold to a coffee manufacturer in Padova, Italy (Bruno) and then that vehicle, of unknown origin/chassis number, went to the Max Molina trust and was then completely restored in Italy. With its original gearbox fitted along with an engine block made by Classiche. It was painted yellow with black interior and the restoration was completed in 2022. But we know for certain that chassis #7511, with its original damaged nose that was reworked by Smith in 1970, along with engine #9779, is in America in my possession. We have had the chassis number on my car personally inspected by the Ferrari factory papagallo, certifying its authenticity.

So what is the identity of this other car that is now in Italy restored? I would like to get the history sorted and documented once and for all. Perhaps you could elaborate on how/where you obtained the information indicating a car purported to be #7511 ended up in Italy? Considering it is known for certain that my #7511 never left Washington/Oregon until I purchased it last year.

Could you also elaborate on the history of #9779?

Perhaps at the end of the day this is all due to mistakes and/or misunderstandings.
