To quote the listing- "THIS CAR IS WITHOUT MODIFICATION, IT TRULY IS ORIGINAL!!!!!!!! THIS IS AS CLOSE TO A TIME CAPSULE AS I'VE SEEN!!!" Convertible so it's got to be a QV, but the speedometer looks to be from an 8? Or is it a different version? My QV's have all been 180mph dials, and never had the 55mph marker. I've only seen that on 8's. Also, someone put weird "flame" stitching on the leather door panels. :\ I doubt it was anyone in Maranello. But did the Mondial ever come with black leather and red piping on the seats from the factory? I've never seen that on a Mondial. Not so sure about the top either but I'm not an expert on those. Opinions? Ferrari Mondial Cabriolet | eBay
Center console and radio are definetly QV or 3.2 Engine is QV, and red air plenum says QV. I think the Pelnum on a 3.2 says QV 3.2 Plenum on an 8 is usually black. Single radiator fan is also QV. 3.2 has 2 fans. Never seen seats, or door panels like that. Notice that he also has speakers/tweeters in the door panels. Nice accessories - the Rolex submariner and the blonde in the passenger seat!! Sid
It has all the AC components but the seller has not recharged the AC? $$$$$. Let's be careful out there. Regards, Jerry
.... everything has a price I think listing it as a 3.2 and showing a car with black bumpers raises alarm bells even to this novice
There are some prices that I'm just not willing to pay. speaking of interesting, check out this Mondial (I'm not affiliated in any way with this car or owner): Ferrari Mondial Convertible | eBay Sid
Right, I have no doubt the car is a QV. But all the weirdness with the leather aside, the speedo is weird looking to me. I have never seen one like this. Usually the 8 speedo's have the 55mph marker but then go to an orange line after what, 80mph or something? Just like 308's of the same era. And every QV speedo I've seen or owned goes to 180mph. It's either new to me or something is off. I'd be curious to know if anyone else has seen an '83-'85 QV marked out in 10mph increments up to only 140, and with the 55mph marker. Also, note that it doesn't have VEGLIA printed on the speedometer, and the 55mph marker and the MPH at the zero look to be cut off. Re-screened? Aftermarket?
When I saw the CA plate I knew without looking it had to be from either San Jose or San Bernardino. Fugly as all get out, and for what he likely spent destroying that poor Mondial, he probably could have bought another cool old car. :\
Also, whoever buys it will need to call Ron and get "B" pillar replacements, insulation for the hood above the radiator and on and on and on.................
I'd buy it because the black and white pic is cool...(-* And that blonde has man hands if it matters. Is it me or is the top folded real screwy? Good luck.
The seller also attended the super exclusive "Scent of a Woman" training class on how to put the top down on a Mondial. Alden
And that tail light configuration - well - if that were stock, they would probably go in the opposite direction - - like a few 348 owners have done. Ahh, the world of art .............. Cheers, hank
violates rule #10 of the 10 commands of exotic car ownership "10. I will not misrepresent, modify, or alter the vehicle to falsely position the vehicle as another car. 10 Commandments of Exotic Car Ownership | Ferrari Mondial t Not sure what an "F Spider" is...when people pull shenanigans like this - it pulls all Mondial owners down.... Been saving these photos of the QV Cab for my QV brothers... The Mondial QV Cab is a spectacular car, no need to misrepresent it with this bastardization. (shakes head) Money/Time/Effort should have been spent restoring it to its original true glory - not this Frankenstein of a car. Yup, the interior has had a make-over for sure. So "original" it isn't. I can't say I'm a fan of red piping on the seat covers or the squiggles on the door, which I expect are custom as is the tweeter speaker. ... and serviced? Yeah really? Hmmm ... I noticed the R sub, far nicer in blue imo Jeff
I guess if you're throwing originality to the wind. One should do it in style. The owner has done a nice job imo and obviously influenced by the 360/430 series spent a whole heap of $$££ on the car. I like it. Dunno if it would make it over the speed bumps & bottomless potholes on the UK's awful roads though. Jeff
You're not kidding, Paul. I feel like I should call "Classic Car Protective Services" to interview the poor abused Mondial..."Show me on the model where the bad man hurt you..." Image Unavailable, Please Login
Those exotic rear lights are standard features on european MAN TRUCKS: http://img.czerwonesamochody.com/data/media/339/MAN_lewy_ty.jpg But I smell an opportunity: I have a few in stock if someone is interested. I can make you a good deal if you send in your Original ones. On top this "stock Mondials look like replica" deal, for buyers of my awesome " f spider euro custom one of a kind -kit", I'll trow in a manual "how you can make your headrests look like baseball caps worn backwards" order NOW!!!!! Only a few sets available.
Can I also send you my hood? I need the "hidden headlight" feature also!!! And for a little more, can you add flames to my interior door panel? This will all go good with my gold chains I wear everywhere!! Sid P.S - I'm of recent Italian descent/immigration (grandparents immigrated to New Jersey - of all places!), so I can joke without be racist!
You'd think an respectable owner would finally figure out how to correctly fold the Mondial's top. Yes, there is a WRONG way (as shown).
