I'm seriousely considering this 348. What do you think? does anyone know the car personally?...
I'm seriousely considering this 348. What do you think? does anyone know the car personally? http://clients.automanager.com/005654/VD.html?VID=c9030a470d3300459be48f4b8f9c1f49
Tell me about it! I should buy it, bring it here and rego it under "club rego" for LHD to drive it on weekends.
Get a deposit on it, quick! That car looks great, has had a recent service, and has some quality upgrades. I don't think you will go wrong. If the timing belt has not been changed recently, maybe do that, and enjoy it! At the price it is being offered you can still make an unforeseen $5k repair and still be good on the purchase. BT
Did you get it? It doesn't look like it has been lowered. They are really low enough and have a long front end that cause problems without lowering the vehicle
Hi Chris, I was/am planning on going there this weekend, but the dealer is being very unresponsive. Since the car is on consignment, they dont know much about the history. Im waiting for them to fax me the service records, but they are being very unresponsive. Im only a little afraid of the mileage, isnt it a little high? I really dont want the gearbox exploding on me . I sent you a pm...
My 348 spider has 45k miles. Why would this milage be a problem? If the car has had the proper maintenance it should be right. Find someone who can do a good PPI and you should be fine. How far are you from this car?
i would guess the major is do as well at this price. but hey do a 6-8k major and your in it for 46k$ and ready to drive for 5 years!
I agree, proper service/maintenance trumps mileage IMO. If the vehicle has been properly maintained, then do not worry about 39,000 miles. For some reason, this does seem to good to be true. If no major accidents, then $39,000 is a steal...and the 355 wheels are a bonus too.
I wouldn't be afraid of the mileage. But I would like to see the records. And who has done the major on the car and when. The 'Who' part concerns me most of the time. Another concern is the fact that the dealer is not responding. That shows they don't even care to sell the car, since it is not "their money" and it's a consigned car. They would be jumpin around to sell the car if they owned it, I guarantee you that. Be patient, find the right car. And I bet there are more in Southern California than anywhere else in the country. Keep your eyes peeled in the 348 for sale section http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?p=139349991#post139349991 And Ferrariads. And I will keep my ears open for anyone that is selling one locally. Keep in touch
Is 120 miles a barrier? I drove to the UK (350 miles one way) a few weeks back to have a look at an F355. I am happy I did. I would drive to the other end of Europe for a chance like that.
No, the distance is not a problem at all. My main concern is the condition of the car. I really want one in exceptional condition. Yes, the price is attractive, but I dont mind paying a few grand extra for an exceptional car. Plus, the dealer is not returning my calls, nor getting the information Im requesting. I will continue my search
I see. In most cases the cheap Ferrari's are not the ones in an exceptional good condition. Good luck! I sold my near pristine 348 spider today. The clock showed 45k miles. The new owner is a very happy man.
