    Just starting my 458 search.
I came across the below car.
Any thing to be worried about with a pre owned 458.

How do they ride with the Novitech suspension compared to stock

    Thoughts on price???

    Thanks in advance

Stunning looking. Not my choice of wheels but certainly not bad. Price looks amazing to the point I see the mileage. If you are ok with it go for it

I would keep looking for a lower mileage car. They are still out there.

Usually the rule of thumb is the cheaper the Ferrari is, the more in service you are more likely to spend. Although not the case all the time, that's just how I see it.

My opinion is to try and find one on here that has service documents, known history, etc. You might pay a little more, but it will be well worth it in the long run. Good Luck with your search :)

If this car has all the service documents I'd say go for it. I have 23,000 miles on my 458 and It looks and drives brand new. I'd be willing to bet the trade in value on this car would be closer to 150k.

I would first decide what you plan on doing with the car. Most 458 owners really don't drive the car that much and I think that is why you will get the responses regarding mileage. It seems that most that do drive their cars find them pretty reliable although repairs are expensive. If you are planning on driving the car, then this seems pretty reasonable although price vs mileage should be considered.

The wheels seem to be an option so I personally would go with OEM wheels or different aftermarket wheels. In regards to the Novitec suspension, it is actually just the lowering springs. The springs are from KW and quite a few have lowered their cars with them so I suspect they are OK. I have a set which I am planning on installing on my 2012.

2010 was the first year. In the first year they had the most gearbox problems. If the gearbox has been replaced it's better.

IMO, this car is way too lowered for street use. And, any modified car is actually worth LESS than an unmodified one. I bet if you tried you could get this for maybe $150K which wouldn't be a bad deal at all if it didn't have issues.

The devil is in the details. Hard to tell from photos.

I always say: Don't let PRICE be the driving factor in buying a car. Buy a better one or one more at your liking for a bit more money. You don't buy these everyday and if you think you are having a tough time deciding, imagine the next guy when it has 5 or 10K more miles on it after you get through with it.

The good things about the 458: It's probably the most dependable Ferrari ever, they probably won't fall down in value much more as they will bump against earlier model's prices, they are the last of the normally aspirated non-hybrid V8's we will ever see, they are easy to drive around town, and they are fun to drive. The engine at 9 grand makes a noise that will wake up the dead.

The bad things: $$$$$$ to fix them and insure them and they attract a lot of attention which can have it's downsides. Drive a Corvette C7 and then jump into a 458 and you'll see what I mean right away.
