Ok, does anyone know this car? It VIN is ZFFMC15A7D0048943, a 83 Black/Tan Mondial convertible, with approx 18,000 miles. It's on Ebay and seller is out of Chicago. Buy me price of $33,000. Lic tags show MIKMARZ per the ad on EBay. i don't remeber seeing it at any recent shows around town.

I would need someone with some experience to look at it with me, before investing in having one of the two dealers to evaluate the car.

Hey it's an F car, a convertible and reasonibly priced. Hush don't tell Husker Bill that I'm looking.

    Hi Rick,
AFAIK, I don't know the seller, but in the ad he mentions that it was serviced at the dealer. See if he will tell which dealer, so they may be able to give you an idea of condition and work performed. BTW, I won't be the one to tell "Husker."

Rick, I believe that the license plate is in reference to Motley Crue guitarist "Mick Mars". The owner must be a Metalhead/Crue fan. I have never seen this car around anywhere. I saw the car on E-Bay motors. Looks nice. But, I don't know anything about those early Mondials. Dave had one, he could probably tell you about them.

Hey Rick! Any luck yet with the Motley Crue Mobile? Hey, all it needs are some Leopard print seat covers and a super loud stereo!....;)

Oh he finally surfaces! Welcome back Bill, How's the Calif Kid? Well Dave B and I checked it out and figured a min of $10k worth of service and it wasn't reflected in his price. So still looking. Hey check out those Panteras in CA. for me. I can hook you up with the local Pantera chapter in the Bay area.

Do you want a Pantera? I know where there is a Blue '73 for $32K. But it's on the East Coast (VA.). Let me know if you want the info.

Most Pantera's that I see abvertised in Hemmings Motor News monthly are going in the mid to high $50K range right now.

As far as that Black '83 Mondial goes. Yeah, but don't forget that it is a 23 year old car. It will not be faultless. You don't need a PPI if Dave has already looked it over. He knows Ferrari's, and he had an older Mondial. But If you can get the guy down to, say, the mid $20K's. Get it. Take it to an Independent Shop and get the work done. And have them check it all over to see what else it may need done, if anything, in the future. A 23 year old car will not be perfect. And, if it is, expect to pay $10K+ or more for it anyway. But now, you will KNOW what has been done to the car, and shouldn't have any worries. Drive it now, then get the work done over the Winter and be all set for next Spring.

There's absolutely No price for Peace of Mind....("Piece of Mind", if you are an Iron Maiden fan....:) )

In regards to Panteras, it would have to be a group 4 version style. You know me can't keep anything stock.

Glad you like it out there. It is car heaven. Keep me in mind if you see any for sale, seriously. I'm loosing my contact in the Bay, my one friend is moving out and going to AR (car hell). He's not a happy camper. He was the prez of the local Pantera club for a number of years.

I spotted a Pantera in Schaumburg about a week ago, sounded AMAZING. Check out http://ww2.collectorcartraderonline.com there are 12 of them currently listed for sale from 30k-75k. None appear to be in this area however.
