MBFerrari, I understand... but it is just as difficult to sell a 348 Spider in original condition. So why not enjoy some improvements to the car on the cheap? Yes, the interior inserts & the air intakes are poor taste, but can be easily and cheaply returned to stock.

If I bought a 348 Spider, the first thing I would do is replace the OEM wheels & seats. Sure I would keep the originals on hand... but when you think about it, you're just "saving them for the next guy". Why not take the discount & enjoy life? I am done with being a caretaker/martyr for the next owner.

Yes, the top concerns me (they don't seem to include photos of it) as well as the major. But at $30k, does it really matter? My experience selling my last Spider showed me that the market does not care about condition - they care about getting a bargain.

Copy all, but even if you are not an "original" guy like me (and there is nothing wrong with that) it is wise to keep the original parts, because as soon as you modify it as this person did, you will have a very difficult time finding someone to buy it, like this person did - simply because if you don't like the mods you have to PAY to get things the way you want them...

If you like the car, go ahead and buy it to the OP, but just be aware that there is a reason the car has been for sale for over a year at three different dealers, and it isn't because it is in original condition.

I have bought and sold one Ferrari, (a 348SS) and I didn't even list it anywhere and it sold in a week.

I am now taking my newly acquired 308QV and turning it into the original machine it is supposed to be (except the pipes, and I am keeping the original) and I would wager that when it comes time to sell this car (and let's hope that is many years off)) that it will sell quickly because I didn't pimp it out and make it look like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. You can take the discount on the front end, but you will take it in the shorts on the other end when you go to sell it.

If money is no issue, than have at it, but if money is no issue one is not likely looking at a 348 spider that looks like it went through a drug induced painter's party.

Just my .02, - didn't mean to flame you here, just my opinion and I respect yours as well.

I respect your opinion. No worries brother! I sincerely appreciate you allowing me to bend your ear.

To update this thread, I probably won't be buying this car after all... the seller has avoided answering my questions on two occasions. Red flag.

One would think that this dealer would jump at the chance to answer some questions from a prospective buyer about a car they've had in their inventory for more than a year! Wow...
