Not of this car only the model in basic terms.

The major service being done is a good thing. That can be expensive. I would want to know when it was done and by whom. I would want to see the detailed bill. If it is done by a ferrari dealer most likely that would do any factory bulletins that are required.

These cars had to have a rubber belt changes every three years. In later years they went to five years and then went back to three years. If that belt breaks while the engine is running it will damage the valves and the pistons in an expensive way. The ferraris I am more familar with of that vintage required the motor to be taken out which normally required some new parts. I assume this car is the same but I do not know.

I did not buy a Testarossa for that reason although I love the car. The prices I got were $19k to $7,5K. That was at least 15 years ago. I do not know the number today but I would want to know before I bought it.

I noticed the car had a rebuilt title. I would want to know more about why. That would drop the value of the car at least to collectors.

I do not know what these cars go for but a dealer may be able to help you. Most dealers are good about that type of thing.

I would be careful and I wish you good luck. I looked at an Enzo and agreed to a price contingent on a review of the maintenace on the car and the records. I found out the owner had not used the correct oil as recommended for the car by Ferrari so I had the oil analyzed. There was metal in the oil and the engine was distroying itself. I thought not a big deal I will just get it fixed and adjust the price to buy it by that amount. The dealer told me a hugh number to replace the head. He also told me the car had had an acident which I was not told. After getting some prices on other service items I backed away from the deal. I really wanted the car.

    Good luck

Thanks Lee. I've been doing my homework on the 348 for a while now, and am aware of the pitfalls of ownership. But I love the car. It is probably my second favorite of the modern Ferraris, right after the 550. And I really don't mind the salvage title, if she was put back together correctly. If not, you are looking at some major $$$$$ to get her sorted out.

Chris looks like you have done a thoughful look at the car. Those older ferraris are awesome.
A great exhaust note, Live for the tunnels :)

I love the 550 it is a gentlemans rocket ship. I have driven several of these that freinds owned and was impressed!

Good luck with your new car
