    dead give away is the speedo, it's in KM, also the on the vin 5th digit is a E, US market car would have a U instead.

    Cars lacks the, IMO unattractive US side marker lights and passenger "panic handle"

    Anyway 5th digit in VIN is E = Europe spec car.

    That is just how it was/is supposed to be. But agreed, the US style panic handle looks very clumsy
