    I've replaced the heat shield which fits around the clutch housing; it's a later part compared to the one on my early car which covered the bottom only.

    The spare part costs close to $1000 in the US I believe and has a shockingly bad paint job - this is my improved version with the bottom section visible from behind the car painted black. It comes with two lengths of self-adhesive aluminium tape and I have no idea what it is used for.

    Does anyone have any idea?

    so you bought a new one.. and it came with the tape..? not sure what it would be for.

    for the record.. I have a used transmission shield that came off my Euro spec 355..
    i'll let it go for cheap $350US.. pm me if interested..
