Previous threads were already written up about this car. Look up North Carolina section, it was also mentioned there as well. If I knew how to post the links I would but you could do a search under my screenname and pull up my prior posts. That will take you to the threads. The guy who is supposedly selling the car is a broker, for the owner. He has more stories than Walt Disney. He told me the car had an engine out done at Algars. When I called up to inquire about it, they said the car was never even taken there. When I asked him to fax over the service records, he couldn't find them. Then he told me that the engine out never needed to be done because it only had a few thousand miles(The car is 20 years old!!!). I inquired about having a PPI done and thats when I said this guy is full of garbage. He told me that the owner would not let anyone(even F tech's) touch anything on the car. He wouldn't even consent to the PPI with a deposit and a flatbed truck taking it there. If you are not going to allow a PPI or if your going to flip out if someone removes the spark plugs on your car for a PPI/compression/leakdown, in my opionion you are hiding something. Finally, thanks to this great forum, there was a very reputable mechanic and fellow f-chatter(Lolaman) in North Carolina who basically said to stay away from it. This same guy had another TR for sale(black 87) at the same time and apparently someone had gone to see both cars. That was the consensus of the board. thanks for the heads up, I pulled some of the treads up you pointed me to.....there most be something drastically wrong with the deal or the car to be around for so long..i am going to pass to avoid the aggrevation. thanks
