That was a real smart advertising move. Maybe he stuffed it on purpose!!
Good promo for the movie, IMO.

    HA!

That's exactly what I was thinking when I watched the race and in the preshow they talked about the diamond, and then when Klein kissed the wall on what, the first lap, I was thinking, "Hey, where's the diamond going to be??"

I missed the pre-race, so I hadn't heard about the diamond. Who possibly thought that would be a good idea?! Hmmmm, let's put a quarter-million-dollar gem in the nose of a racing car just before it races on the tightest, armco-lined circuit in the world. I don't see how it could go wrong!

It was a very smart idea. Just look at the free PR and press the Diamond company is getting. They ofcourse had that Diamond insured. And the Jaguar (Ford) team is going to pay a sizeable fine for losing the diamond.

Oh and the loss of a 250 K Steinmetz diamond is not going to put either Jaguar / Ford or the Diamond Company out of business. They have alredy got 250K worth of publicity out of this.
