Just joined the Ferrari Chat for some general information about Dino's. Quick question.. I am 6'4'', 180lbs, How would someone my size fit in one? Does the GTS offer beter head room over the GT?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jim

Back in the 80's I maintained a GTS for Carl Eller (one of the famed Vikings "Purple People Eaters" line men). Smaller steering wheel and the roof panel removed made the car "driveable" for Carl

My 6'5" brother in law has driven mine on several occasions.

Did I mention he's also about 250-260 lbs.

He's had lots of practice fitting in smaller cars. He loves driving little British cars, knees wrapped around the stering wheel.

I've been lurking since I bought my 246GT last month. I love the car, but was worried about the size.

I'm 6'-5" and 240 (or so... what did I eat last night?), and fit well enough in the coupe. I did have trouble in a chairs and flairs GTS, though, don't know if it was the seats, the roof construction, or seat travel... anyone know?

The only issue I have is that it's a little crowded in (only) the first/reverse gate between my knee, the shifter, and the wheel. I'm wondering if I might just have a spacer made (1" thick) to move the wheel closer and give some room in the region... looks like it might work, and since I have the seat so far back, it doesn't feel like the wheel should be too close. Again, any thoughts/experience?

p.s.: My son is 6'4"/180, and seems to fit fine (at least I haven't heard him complain!)

With the top off and stowed behind the seat, a 246 GTS seat will have reduced travel as it just won't slide back all the way with the targa top back there.

My friend Julie and I were at Mark Ryan's winery last week and offered the vintner a seat in her GTS. He is well over 6 feet 5 inches tall and Height/Weight proportionate (i.e. Big). He did have trouble as the targa was stowed behind the seat.

HEY - that's my wife and my car too that you're talking about!

Did Mark Ryan sit in your Bora? He might fit in an Indy....

Oh yeah, that's your car too (big chuckle)
Since you didn't show up for the weekly drive, nor answered your cell phone messages we concluded your fractured arm was probably keeping you from dialing (best wishes for a speedy recovery).

Gary and I stumbled upon a great winery, complete with Russian gals in need of Visas while on wine tour and Jack Black's pseudo brother was pouring at Chatter Creek (private joke).

Mark sat in the Bora and fit quite well, but one of Maserati's forte's has always been interior comfort and style.
