Okay, I happened to go take a look at this "thing" today as I was driving by the Dealer.....purely out of idle curiosity....I am not looking for a 348.

Anyway, the "Dealer" (these guys know nothing about Ferraris, btw) tried to tell me that the funky leather (some of it could actually be vinyl, I was not allowed to touch it ;)) --- alligator pattern on the top cover and something weirdo on the seat centers & dash (which they are claiming is "ostrich" or some such) --- was custom speced from Ferrari when the car was new (which, of course, the sales guy says, "makes it so special and rare").

I have never seen or heard of anything like this ever coming from Maranello before, so I am thinking it is all just some crazy, previous owner customization ---- looks hideous, btw ;). What do you all think ---- any possibility that this material is OE ??? Anyone know anything about this particular 348 ???

Obviously, the front driving lights have been molested as well. And, it looks like some unusual mods have been made to the engine bay components, too.

In person, the whole thing looks pretty tasteless and cheesy, IMO ---- I half-expected to see a pair of fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror :p.

100% factory and incredibly rare. There were supposedly only three made but all were supposed to have white interior, so this is either a redye or a so far unknown fourth car in black.

Might be worth twice the ask. ;)

Wow, that does indeed look like ostrich interior inserts, and alligator top cover.

If real, that's the rare Crocodile Dundee Edition.....is there a BIG knife between the driver's seat and console????

Without factory documentation it is just an interesting interior.

I kind of like it but would not pay extra without factory documents.

It maybe rare but worth more??? only if you find someone that likes the interior.

Not my taste and I would offer much less due to the interior but hey that's just my taste.

I like the way they appear to have put Armor All on the tread part of the tires (lift photo). That's one way to make the steering effort lighter when parking ;-)

I will say this much, after seeing this car in person......the previous owner must have loved it, as it is exceptionally clean everywhere. You could eat off the car's undercarriage !

And, especially assuming the ostrich and alligator hides are real.....it must have cost a small fortune to have that interior re-done !

To my eye the stitching isn't the same as factory, even parts that are leather to leather, so I call their bluff on this one - not done in Maranello.

I can see the appeal but it'd be wasted on me. It looks like a really good car but the first thing I'd do is rip the interior out and put a more normal one back I'm afraid. I don't wear shades at night, I don't like music with ONLY a base line and I don't think neon under a car looks cool so this car is not for me. All in all to me it looks just a tad over-done and just a little "look at me!" ish. I don't think a Ferrari needs it.

Except the foglight covers that go over the hardware are missing. Which is funny if you think about it, the person smoked all the lights, but the two black covers are missing so you can see non-black bits. Nice!
