Maybe Speed will want to show race cars doing something other than turning left.....

It was my understanding that once Speed changes to Fox Sports 1 next month they're dropping all of their car-related programming.

I don't know about all car related programming, but my understanding is they're no longer a motorsports dedicated channel. They'll be just sports in general.

I believe this is correct. I'm excited, it's about time ESPN had a legitimate rival.

It's a shame as it is reported that NASCAR is sucking the life out of networks
    they have contracts with.

It may be agreed that once NASCAR got their tentacles into Speed, the quality
of the programming decreased dramatically to the point where it became so watered down
with "reality" shows that it was unwatchable.

Anyone thinking this deal between NASCAR and NBC is a good thing, think again. They'll
put the squeeze on not only F-1 but Indy Car as they'll worm their way in to showing
NASCAR Trucks practice sessions or Grand National qualifying instead of relevant racing.

It seems incredible that a body like NASCAR which takes most of it's business plan right
from the books of the NFL, MLB and professional wrestling dosen't grow a pair and start
their own network for those whom must have 24/7 NASCAR coverage.

The new motorsports channel: CNBC. ;)

Just so long as it isn't MSNBC: they'd edit the results. :p

In NASCAR's deluded mindset, any dollar spent (whether its for tickets,
sponsorship or television time) on other forms of racing is a dollar out
of their pocket that they will stop at nothing to recoup.

Likewise, they feel any time a TV viewer spends watching another form or motor sport
is time not watching NASCAR so they'll saturate that network with inane 24/7 NASCAR
programming in order to elbow their competition out of the way.

NASCAR has said it out loud, they want to control a monopoly over all of racing
in the U.S. and series like F-1 and Indy Car are annoyances to their plans.
