I don't think he knows how to just fade into forced retirement.

    Diarrhea of the mouth.

Which reminds me of the Rhea brothers: Gonnor, Diar and their cousin Pyo. :)

Well, at least he's being genuine. Instead of alot of drivers who are fake and give the same old contrived, read it a zillion times, interviews. I wish the 1997 World Champion luck at Lemans this year. Hopefully he gets the Nascar ride he wants in 08 aswell.

The Formula 1 World Championship... yes sure I remember Mr. Sharpton was so proud winning all those things....

Shut up and go back to driving your bus you non-acheiving fack... Azzhole.

He might not be able to sing but your unable to earn millions in ANY field so... shut up until you can catch-up or even buy the 308 your shooting for.

I agree. At worst, this is a case of the media having nobody better to interview. But Jacques gave rather short, honest answers.

I agree with both of you.

Will Jacques ever shut up? He does so until he is asked a question by the media. What should he do...........not answer them?

I admire the guy for being brutally honest. He does not seek the media just so he can open his mouth up, he just answers questions that are posed to him.

I agree with everything JV said. It is put up or shut up time for Fisi.

I also agree with JV that either you measure up in F1 or you will be gone..hence his departure.

He is right on about Fisi, however, he is now starting to get a bit annoying with his criticisms.

Keeping in mind that they both have significant winning records, should there be a poll? Who is the most disliked on F-Chat? JV or JPM?

Unfortunately, I think he'll do/say anything to keep his name in the news at this point.

He was terrific to watch in Indy and at William/Renault, but it was just painful to see him and HHF with those Megachrome (Supertech?) engines in 98/99. Then I felt he sold out for $$$$ with BAR Honda. What a terrible waste of talent for 5 years there!

It is refreshing to hear some less PC opinions. It does make the source look bad, but I enjoy some insight as to how the drivers really feel on the issues.

    Where's Eddie Irvine? ;)

He just said what was on his mind. But I think he makes a good point... in F1, you either measure up or you don't. He didn't, so he's gone. Simple as that. He can't get a drive because nobody wants him. Maybe he's accepted that?

I think Fisi did better as a whole in the Renault than JV did. Nothing personal, just the facts.

Ummm, how's the 1997 WC for JV in a Williams Renault? Fisi better have a good year!

That would be pointless, and just plain mean, we have better things to do than discuss who we may arbitrarily dislike more.

Most drivers - most athletes - hell, most PEOPLE - leave one job for a better opportunity elsewhere - be it money, office, or potential.
Schumi left Benetton to go to Ferrari for what reason ?
Most drivers leave ANY team and go to Ferrari for what reason ??

When JV went to BAR, you gotta remember BAR was the next 'super team' - TONS of cash and lots of new people - 'can't miss' was the word. They were going to give McLaren and Williams a run for their money...

    Didn't happen.

My post may have lacked the sarcasm intended. I was there when JV and JPM won the Indy 500. I was there when they won Cart Championships. I'm a fan of both.

And I don't think either one is done with us.

There's no need to make such an indirect comparison -> "they both drove a car with a renault engine!" because they both drove the SAME car. And in the same car, JV sucked donkey balls. Since Alonso did so well in that car, we can infer that a great driver (Alonso) can do great things with it, and a mediocre driver will suck donkey balls in it. Exhibit A - Jacques Villeneuve.

Well to be fair, JV was out the whole year and was signed to do the last three races after Trulli was sacked. Not a fair comparison, it's not like JV was there all year and doing pre season testing.
