I have been a car enthusiest for a long time. When I met my wife 10 years ago, she could care less about cars and wouldn't know the difference between a Ford and Ferrari. At the begining I would always just point out cars on the road and tell her what they were. Then eventyally I would drag her to car shows. After a while she really began to take an interest on her own. Now she knows pretty much every car on the road. When ever she is out and sees an exotic driving she calls me and tries to hold her phone out the window so I can hear the engine.
A classic example happened last year when she went to the Ferrari of Central NJ dealership and saw that they had an FXX there. She wasn't sure if I was going to get a chance to see it for myself so she got one of the guys there (Chris) to take a picture of her with my newborn son in front of the FXX.
I only bring this up today becuase she just spotted another Murci out on the road and was very excited to tell me about it and I just thought how cool it is that she does that.

My boyfriend and I are both very into cars.

I dated a guy a while back that didn't know a darn thing and didn't like to drive my car because it's "too fast." I was very turned off by that. I wouldn't date another guy that didn't share my passion for nice cars.

My wife is not a fanatic, but has a good time at Lime Rock for both ALMS, and the vintage festival. She enjoyed driving my 944, and likes my jaguar. She tends to be attracted to odd balls though, the BMW 2002, fiat 500, and her holy grail: the Porsche 914

My girl is into cars at a basic level. She likea them (mostly tuners & the drifting world), understands my passion for Ferrari, but doesn't get TOO into it... keeps it feminine. I like that.

Was serious with a girl once who thought any car over Hyundia level was "being pretentious & materialistic". That didn't last too long.

My girlfriend who will be my wife once she finishes grad school, likes cars as well. She loves old cars; old Mercedes 280SL and 190SLs, Porsche Speedsters, late 60s-early 70s Porsche 911s, Chevelles, Stingrays. She's not much on new cars (aside from Aston Martins though). Primarily because she lives in San Diego where she sees F-cars and Lamborghinis left and right.

I can't complain. She likes cars. That's good enough for me. If she can understand enough for me to get a Maserati as my DD then I accomplished something! And for the price of a 2002 Coupe, a new 335i is about the same price. She too, would rather have a used Maserati than a new 335i which 16 year olds drive all the time. At least the Maz has some exclusiveness and elusive qualities to it.

I just hope I could afford enough for our car passion!

My gf likes cars...but isnt as crazy about them as I am at this point. I have dragged her to a few shows, and she has had favorite cars, but I think she enjoyed "people watching" the most. However, she does take care of her car really well (07 civic coupe, purchased new, cash). As someone who isnt really into cars, I am amazed at how anal she is about her car, more so than I am.

My wife is more and more into them... when we first met, she really didn't "get it" when it came to my love of cars, but she fine with the whole thing. Since then, we have gone to many different shows together, and more and more she asks questions about the different cars, and seems to be getting more into them. I don't expect that she'll ever be quite a passionate as I am about them though.

For a while, she seemed a bit turned off by the car show deal, but it turned out to be a symptom of her walking problems. That is to say, she was concerned that her walking problems would cause us to have to leave early, and she knew I wouldn't want to leave early, and so she would decline. Now that we bring a wheelchair for her, she likes the shows a lot more. Also, if she doesn't feel like looking around, she just parks herself off somewhere and reads a book.

    Shiny Side Up!

Its actually gotten to the point that my wife the only person I can actually talk to about cars. I don't how I ended up getting this passion for cars, but litterally none of my friends have any interest in cars at all.

Another funny story about my wife. The other day some radio talk show was talking about "what would you do if you won the lottery" . So she called in and gets through and one of the things she said was that she would do is to let me buy all the cars I wanted, starting with a Zonda. The host replied, "all that money and you would only get him a Honda". She told him he was clueless and to do a google search.

I have been into cars since about 5 or 6 years old....I became obsessed around 13 or 14, so I have been in love with cars for quite a long time. When I decided to go to photography school I picked Brooks in Santa Barbara....for the ONE automotive photography class they had.

My first day of college the teacher went around the room and asked what type of photography we want to do and when I said "automotive" I saw about 3 or 4 guys heads turn around very sharply (I was in the back of the room). My now boyfriend introduced himself after class and we have been together ever since...3 years on Oct 9.

He is the only guy I have ever met that is as in to cars as I am....and I work in the automotive field. That is all we talk about. We someday hope that we will be in a good financial state to act on our passions and build a car to rally or autocross or something. We both want to get motorcycles and take early morning rides up the crest together.

My point is, I have never met anyone with so much passion for the same things as me....and I wouldn't have it any other way.

My wife knows most ferraris and how much they cost. I dont know if she loves them or she is just setting me up for the wife tax when I buy one.

    Let's see

360 = wood floors, new master bath, lv purse, new BMW for her.

430 = New house, new BMW for her.

Enzo = new house for her, a house for her sister, an extra one for her mom, and a ranch for her cousins that I have never met.

    LOL!

My GF really isn't into cars at all, but thankfully doesn't complain about my passion for them (and likewise I don't complain about her hobbies that I don't share). It's nice in a way to have some interests that you don't share and can have a bit of independence with in a relationship.

Oh yeah, my wife fits the bill.

My wife likes the "little red car."

Thank God it's also an automatic, but sometimes she forgets how to get it into reverse.

She doesn't understand why I bought a coupe, "because sports cars should be convertibles."

Well, I have to say that I'm very lucky in this department-My wife loves cars albeit American muscle-but cars all the same. I think the un-written law is that after the 308/328-she gets her 67 SS Chevell (how do you spell old junk,LOL). We had a great time this summer going to car shows and as time permits we sit down Sunday and check out the muscle car show on spike-gotta love ole Lou Santiago.
It does help that I picked her up this:

My wife is the primary reason I still own the Dino.

Everytime I suggest that I might sell it, she says, "NO!!@!!!@@!!!"

She suggested I buy another sports car to keep me having fun with cars while not wrecking the Dino.

who'd of thunk that would happen??

So now I have two cars. :D

Oh, and she goes to every car show with me, it's getting to the point where she knows as much, if not more, about the history of the car than I do.

My ex-fiance wasn't into cars. Needless to say, that's probably part of the reason it didn't work out. Now I surround myself with car guys because they tend to understand my obsession and enjoy my lifestlye more. I think it's important to able to share common interests in a relationship. They say opposites attract, but in the long run, if you can't enjoy the same things, you're going to be doing a lot of the things that make you happy separately or with other people.

    No.

And she doesn't care that I play with race cars, either.
