Would you buy a later model Diablo roadster, or an older model Murci.....assuming they were both in the $200,000 range? I know this question is largely a matter of taste, but I'm in love with the Diablo. I just wonder what you guys think.

Tough question and it boils down to a matter of taste. The Murci is more refined, more comfortable and faster. Diablo has better looks IMO. Of course, the roadster has a roof that comes off. For 200K, you can buy a great Diablo or Murci. Maintenance is about the same in my experience. A good problem to have trying to figure which Lambo to buy.

No way to measure what you're getting for the dollars until you give a good example of each a thorough test drive, preferably back to back.

    Dear Lamborghinisti,

    My turn....

I have a 97.5 Diablo VT roadster and drive it as a daily driver with my 91 Ferrari Testarossa everyday ( I don't own any other car) . The car is very exciting and love the overly aggressive lines.....something lost on the murci.

Like Roy says..." they don't make them anymore " will only make the Diablo go up in value. The Diablo was completely hand made by Italian artisans in very small numbers. The 6.0 speaks a little German and was under Audi's tutlige....more reliable car no doubt....but some of the brutal lines have been panned away.

The murci is being made in too great numbers so while you will pay the same for a comparable Diablo roadster now, the roadster will probably hold it's value better in the long run.

I bet though the murci is a "better" car. I'm sure the German obsession for details & quality control plays a big factor. My problem is that all newer cars are so computer reliant...that's where all the problems seem to lie....sensors! Go out a few years....will you be able to get those "obsolete" computers? I wonder if the reason why carb. countach's are going up in value....you can still fix it.

    What will be your usage?

What do you want the car for?

How often will you drive it?

Wow! To say I'm envious would be an understatement! BTW, I noticed your profile said you are in Georgia. I'm in Peachtree City , via New York.

I have course have had both, including the LP640 that I put 11K miles on in under a year..

BUT in the end, as now, I currently have NO Murcieand only Diablos in my private collection..

    My favorites are the

97 1/2 Diablo Roadster and OF COURSE ANY 2001 6.0, but the SE 6.0 takes the cake...

I'm in the late model Diablo roadster camp without a doubt.

'Going to the local Lambo dealer to check 'em out tomorrow with my son, though he's a Ferrari fan. Although, knowing how he loves to drive one of my Vettes, I don't think he'd complain if I pulled up our driveway in a Lambo. He graduates from college in December. And, though he doesn't know it, my plan is to buy the Lambo and give him one of my Vettes as a graduation present. I'd call that a "win-win."
