I suspect that is industry wide these days and not just aviation either going by what I’ve seen elsewhere. 18 yo? Most of the QANTAS trolley dolly’s these days are either aged homosexuals like Ian or overweight bitter divorced women in their 60s like Rob
Think I'll stick to Cathay or Singa A. BA once upon a time had good looking blondes , now overweight oldies .
Ah, the other sort, the ones who are married, own their house and need something to fill in the day.. My daughter prefers to fill in her day running a mine for 4 x the money..
Fair enough. Sydney airport is an absolute ****hole. Out of Adelaide the check in process is exactly the same for all airlines and the only hold up is getting through security. The only benefit of Qantas is the lounge and that’s nothing to write home about. I’ve flown Jetstar more times than I can count and have never had a flight cancelled. I had one occasion where we taxied back to the ramp due to a tech issue and we ended up being put up overnight in Cairns as they couldn’t fix it. This is the one advantage Qantas has - there are usually enough flights or aircraft sitting around to be able to get on a later flight. In terms of service in the aircraft I’ve had fantastic service on Jetstar with nice friendly young FAs and absolutely terrible on Qantas with bitter grumpy old bags that make you feel like you’re an inconvenience. I agree with you re the weighing of cabin bags thing. Jetstar are pretty over the top about it. Having said that I can’t stand wankers whom try to drag half their house down the aisle and then struggle to get it in the overhead lockers, take up for more room than they should and make everyone wait while they **** around with it. Having a sensible limit and enforcing it is fine in my view. But 7kg is too low. Should be 12 or 15 and strict size limits. It’s the size thats more of a problem than the weight for mine.
And that's why I hate Jetstar. Attracts infrequent bogan flyers whom are too cheap to pay for checked baggage and cause chaos
Changing from the domestic scene, some advice. I'm flying into HK this year as a stop-over oneway for an hour and home for 4 hours (Noddlebar at CP /IATA is awesome.) Question ....Do we stop over for a day and night, "A' can do some shopping and I can visit a well-known car collection with my father's once-owned Phantom 111 taking pride of place. Stay at The Peninsula hotel or just come home? I know HK is nothing like it was when I visited as a child in '64 & 1969/70 and the last time 5 odd years ago we stayed 2 nights and thought it was very ordinary, BLAME the CCP .in fact felt unsafe, say compared to Singa . Having been to HK perhaps 7 times now and since the handover twice I'm not sure I could put up with what the once great city has become! My grandmother in the photo here with me, during the 50s and 60s, would visit for work HK perhaps 7/8 times a year, she always said, once the handover occurred the city would change, how right she was ! Thoughts/discussion.
