Hey Darth, Continental Flight #40 on 9/17/06 first class $6000 round trip= ALL of My reward point that I've been saving for years, if You think I'm BS'ing meet Me in Newark on the 17th, I only posted this for Ferrarichaters FYI so You don't rearrange Your life only to have Ferrari customer care yank the rug out from under You, take it for what it's worth.
Welcome to Italy. Things don't always work the way we expect them to in the USA (pray the taxis aren't on strike when you land). Drink a coffee, slow things down and enjoy the time you are there. Make the most of the trip and have fun.
was on SAS and Lufthansa, and I flew quite frequently all over Europe from the early 1970s to the late 1980s. I don't know who is best now, but my last trip from LA to Paris, with a stopover in San Francisco, on United sucked even worse than Delta or Southwest! (but the price was excellent, as part of a package, through go-today.com) The hotel was small, but nice, about a half-mile from Gare St.Lazare.
I enjoyed your post, as an ironic sense of humor is hard to find these days. For half a second, I actually thought you were feeling victimized by having the wherewithal to fly first class to Italy and having to find something to do whilst there. And lest anyone be fooled into thinking that first class tickets aren't exchangeable, they are. Thanks for the comic relief!
Are you sure? On Snakes on a Plane the first class was upstairs. And I think that Snakes on a Plane is a 100% accurate and believable movie.
I hate to say this and correct me if I am mistaken but isn't just about all of their race budget and profit generated by sponsorship $$$???
I feel sorry for all you paying such big fares for business and first class flights. Seeing what you pay in $US makes me really appreciate working for an airline and geeting the benefits of staff travel. My last around the world business class trip cost me AUD$1100 I went Syd-LA-Vegas-San Fran NYC-Paris-London-Bangkok-Syd. The only drawbacks are it's all on standby, so no seat no ride, and you can be downgraded as well. I had to travel economy fro NYC to Paris, and LA to Vegas. And on the topic of the test days, don't the tems and conditions on the owners website say that ferrari reserve the right to cancel the evennt, but will organise alternative activites instead?
If you have written confirmation from Ferrari, I would demand that they reimburse you for all expenses you incur...if they do not pay voluntarily, I would either sue them and/or do everything I could to let their sponsers and customer base know how you were treated... i.e., letters, phone calls, internet boards, magazine ads, banner at races they participate in, ect... There is no excuse for a company to treat its customers that way...
STEVE - I will be in there the same week. I arrive Sunday the 17th. I have a meeting in Maranello on Monday, and another in Modena on Tuesday. I fly out on Wednesday morning. Want to get some grub on Sunday night? PM me.
i know it isn't the point of the thread, but you can still watch them test. when they are testing, people stop in the middle of the raod, get out of there cars and watch.
LOL, Frank! I don't think even Joe Jamail sued Ferrari, they just gave him a new car! ..and your tech support would drop to..less than zero. So thread starter should just go the Monza on a VIP gig.....
Thanks for the tip, I'm going to see if they will put Me in Pilota Program instead! hopefully they will do something for Me.
Steve, Great seeing you at the Watkins Glen event this past weekend. WOW, talk about attrition! Hope Ferrari comes through is some way/shape/form. BTW, my car polished out many things, other things are looking ok with touch up paint... but that blue 308 looks like it is toasted. Do we know if the driver is ok? Also, the yellow 308 got it pretty bad but they say it is fixable. Wow, what a weekend! PS: what size Hoosiers do you have/suggest, am going to change from Pilot Cups to Hoosiers for 2007. Many thanks.
Savor the memories of your flight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ROogA-XNx8&search=virgin%20atlantic%20commercial
225 in the front and 245's in the rear, I asked Hoosier about staying with the stock size, and they said it's not possible with their size offerings, Yea one hell of a week end! the Blue 308 driver was OK, his car was not! and He said He just rebuilt his engine, looks like the car is a write-off, Ferrari offered a free factory tour! I asked if I can get into the Pilota course if it's not sold out, still waiting to hear! Glad to hear Your car is OK, it broke My heart to see You going into the wall, keep in touch, P.S. You going to Pocono on Oct 3rd?
Many thanks, decided to duop the Pilot Cups for Hoosiers in 2007. Alas, no Pocono as driving for 4+ hours for a single day event is pretty rough.
Well ferrari was very generous and offered Me a private tour of the factory, but I asked about the Pilota Course and They said it was full. (huge bummer)so Continental redeposited my points for future use, up to 1 year non-transferable, so I guess I will try again next year, Thanks for the offer anyway! By the way, if You can You should try to come up to the Northeast for some of the FCA-Empire region track events, Bob Coates does a great job on them and We allways get a lot of track time and have a great time.
