Are there any Ferraris entered in the Concours? Which day is best to attend if you can only make it for 1 day?

Not sure if any Ferraris are in the Concours...however, there are 4 or 5 Ferrari Clubs from all over the country riding in. I do know that one is driving up from FL....

So they are hoping for a good turn out. Saturday is the big "Public" day...Friday will be a day of everyone riding in and hanging out. Then there is a dinner downtown Winston Salem around 6--7.

    Should be a great time.

Concours was not as good as I expected. My wife liked it but I was definitely disappointed. Several Ferraris but I have seen better at our recent Bermuda Run Rally, including a Porsche Carrera GT (not present at the rally). Lots of nice Lambos but again go to Sport Auto to get your fill of the Gallardos and Murcs. Would have liked to have seen some older models. Original design of the Ford GT Mk II but no new Ford GT ( I emailed them to register my car, which would have looked fantastic sitting next to the grand-daddy, but no response...guess they thought I meant a mustang!).
Overall, except for the old RRs and Hudsons, attending a good FCA rally would likely be just as good. Oh well....all for a good cause....the Brenner's Childrens Hospital at WFUMC.
    Just my 2 cents!!

Oh man, I was afraid of that. If I weren't on an airplane for 13 hours on Saturday, I would have gone. Any pictures?

Excepting the Ferraris, was the attendance good? How many cars were shown?

While there weren't too many cars for the premier judging classes, there were a couple hundred "marque" club display cars. Some really unusual stuff including three, THREE, Alpine A 310's, three dozen Triumphs (including an award-winning Italia), fifty Alfas, five dozen Porsches (including a 956 and a 935), an Audi R10 and, of course, a ton of "dealer" display cars (new cars from franchised dealers, BMW, Bentley, FCI).

The weather played a great part in the turnout and a more concerted effort to coordinate advance communications will help a lot. I enjoyed judging with Barney and our class (Postwar European Sports and GT) had several nice Jags, a couple Porsches and three Ferraris. Thanks to Henry Wilkinson for bringing out his "time machine" 4-cam for everyone to drool over. His presentation was terrific and his car was a deserving winner. As many of you may know, Henry's car has also won it's class at Amelia, so the bar was pretty high.

It was fabulous having Pete Brock (Racer Magazine Editor, GM "Stingray" designer, Shelby "Daytona" Coupe designer and Brock Racing Enterprises (Datsun 2.5 Challenge Trans Am winning team owner) principal) there as Chief Judge. Extraordinarily nice man and the stories were terriific!

    Hi Peter,

Do you know the chassis number of Henry's 275GTB/4? Also, what were the other two Ferraris? Thanks for your post

Hey Daniel...here is link to the Gallery -

I have 100 + photos of the event here.

I thought it was pretty nice. But yeah...if it wasn't for Steve Barney and a few other dealers....it would have been a pretty bad showing. Had a pretty nice Porsche turn out.

The Rolls and the red 100 point Jag belong to my cousin Lloyd Gillespie of International Restoration Specialists, Inc. in Mt Airy.

Ahhh, that's a nice old car. Everyone really enjoyed looking at it. Woody had it looking great!

Did you put the Euro bumpers back on it? Love to talk to you about the car off-list.
