    Hi

Regardless of which side of the fence you are on, non of us like to miss an opportunity. And non of us like to pay more than we have to.

We don't know if or what tariffs are going to be put onto car parts being shipped into the States, we don't actually know weather tyres will be included in the car parts tariff?

However what we do know is that we would feel like a nincompoop if we decided we wanted to buy some tyres after a hefty tariff had been applied.

Can i suggest if you might be thinking of buying some tyres for a 308 within the next few months, you get on with it now before you miss the boat.

I have got loads of stock, but it might be a tyre i need to get in for you, so sooner rather than later would make it a safer bet.

Thanks Dougal. Not here to judge who took up more bytes on FC today - you or Mr. Peter S. - but I know whose bytes were more useful. Appreciate Longstone Tires' support of the vintage community.

    Thank you Dave

Hi PeterS; it is a bit spammy. However, i wanted the people who might benefit from what i'm saying to know about it sooner rather than later. The people on the Lamborghinichat won't be aware of what is being said on the Dino thread who won't know about what is being said on the 400 thread who won't know about what is being said on the Porsche thread, etc. However apologies if it upsets you.

Yeah I'm not getting why some are bothered by the heads up. The tariff issue is directly effecting parts imports, right now.

I thought the tariff's were being implemented from day 1 (April 2nd), so it's already too late to avoid the additional costs?

I've been reading complaints about manufacturers and suppliers putting their prices up immediately on April 2nd, on parts that would have been imported before the tariffs were applied, with some trying to claim that it was not legal to do so (completely failing to realise that the law does not tell suppliers when they are allowed to raise their prices, or set the prices that they can charge)

The fact is, the price of imported parts that were already expensive have now become even more expensive, and there's no real way around it!

    Interesting

    I have a few questions.

curerently car tax is 25%. - is the suggestion that car part tax is going to be the same?

Currently The UK is being taxed at 10%, does that mean buying from us in the Uk will be cheaper than buying European goods from Europe?

if i am shipping tyres made in Brazil from the UK to the States will the duty being charged be the UK rate or the Brazil rate?

have you seen my tyre safety film?
