Alright this is for the 348 brothers out there, I have searched high and low, cant find the thread on how to disconnect my mouse/seatbelts on the 348. I have heard that there is 2 ECU's that control them, just do not know where to find them and how to turn them off.

The belt ECU's are behind the center console, under the radio. Two minute job to just unplug 'em.

Hey, I thought we talked about this the other day. If you get into it and have any question just ring me on my cell and we'll do it together.

    Cheers!

Yes thats why I got to thinking about it, after hearing your story about how it locked up on your wife. I may just give you a shout if I run into any issues.

Ok so I slipped the radio half way out (pushing it forward) and am digging up a bunch of wires and being careful not to pull any (thats something on its own for me!) am digging further and further, feeling my way around, cant find the ECU's? Where am I looking or better yet anyone have a schematic, signed blind deaf and feeling dumb about now.

Remove the two screws that hold the shift gate in place. Lift up the trim panel that holds the power window switches and surrounds the shifter (you don't have to remove it completely). Slide the panel that holds the fuel gauge and the A/C control down about 1/4" and it will come loose - it isn't screwed on or held by clips, it's just sitting there. The seat belt ECU's are behind this panel, under the radio. You don't have to remove the radio. Sorry I didn't make that clear.

You can also get to the seat belt ECU's from the right side, by removing the carpeted panel below the dash, but I find that to be a bit harder to do, you have to crawl around too much.

Amazing, draw me a picture and I get it! Took all of 10 minute, anyone perhaps less. The Brotherhood comes through AGAIN! When I purchased the car back in 2002 from Steve Harris Imports they had changed both the passenger and drivers mickey mouse motors to the belts, they lasted until this year, well the passenger one, the drivers one lasted a whole 6 years and this year I would watch it go up or get stuck halfway and watch the passenger work perfectly. Sick of it. This should be a factory recall.

LOL, funny you should mention - it was. In fact, I had mine done in my Spider under warranty in 2002 or '03. FNA is no longer doing it except I have heard that they are doing them on 512TR's, at least they were last time I checked.

2002 is when I bought it and Steve Harris Imports had both sides done, too bad its not still being done. Am sure a lot of the Borthers would have their belts repaired, only to have them fail a few years later...
