First Clara Harris and now this. Dem Texan gals' are some otha' kind of species, I tell ya. LOL. It just hurts to hear this dudes testimony, Poor guy. Any thoughts or input Uro? As for me, I don't know what I would do if I were him.

Graphic opening statements were featured on the first day of testimony in the case. It's an aggravated assault case – Ruiz is accused of cutting off her boyfriend's penis. On Wednesday the victim himself took the stand.

Nunez, 34, limped into a Harris County courtroom, with a catheter protruding from his shorts. His former girlfriend, Ruiz, 45, is accused of cutting off his penis on October 28, 2004 at their Houston home.
At the time, Nunez was prohibited from any contact with Ruiz, due to two previous assault convictions involving the couple. But that day, Ruiz said she had invited him over to discuss legal papers related to their home.

Prosecutor Mike Trent asked Nunez, "Did she know you were not supposed to contact her?"

"Yes," Nunez replied.

During the visit, Nunez told jurors, he fell asleep on the couple's bed as Ruiz searched for the documents.

Some of the most dramatic testimony came when Nunez described how he discovered his penis had been cut off on the day the attack happened.

He testified he woke up, and referring to his groin area, said, "I just touched something hot. I felt it, and then I passed out."

Police reports describe how Ruiz's sister found her staring silently at the bleeding and screaming Nunez. He says he only remembers waking up in a hospital bed.

"How much of your penis was gone?" asked the prosecutor.

Nunez replied, "More than half."

Police later estimated the kitchen knife slice at 80%, and described Ruiz's jealousy of other women and anger over physical abuse as motives.

Defense attorney Tom Radosevich told Eyewitness News, "I think she's going to testify tomorrow that she was being raped by the man and 'something bad happened.'"

 

There's an old saying in urology: Nobody with insurance ever gets their penis cut off.

 

If he decides to sue her civally for battery I don't think the evidence will "stand up" in court!

 

He's half the man he use to be.

 

I think that's stretching it a bit don't you!

And, come to think of it, doesn't Texas have the toughest "penal" system in the nation?
