For those of us who did not see these cars run, this is our chance. Check out the video-you need to stay through the music-that's when the real music begins about half way through.

Historic Grand Prix racing fascinates me. It seems utterly ridiculous that amateur drivers can race each other in cars that are more valuable, more dangerous and almost as fast (in a straight line) as a modern F1 car! Most current F1 drivers wouldn't take the risk of trying to race a 30+ year old car. I do think it's fantastic though. Mad but fantastic and I know that if I had the money I'd be racing in my own Ferrari 312!
I have watched a few historic races and the drivers certainly don't seem to tip-toe around the track. They race the cars like they can afford to fix them!
I'm surprised there don't seem to be many deaths or injuries. Ae the cars slower, safer, or is it the circuits?

I was thinking the same thing, and Road Atlanta is a fast track with a few dangerous turns due to lack of run off. It will be interesting to see the lap times.

If you can, go see this before it's too late. I went to Vegas last Apr. for the Champ Car street race, but mostly for Vegas and these guys. Street courses suck. If you can see these cars at a place as beautiful as Road Atlanta, get there before their all in a museum or someone's private collection! Go see them while you can still hear them.

It's a great show for F1 history buffs. They were at the F1 race at Indy one year (forgot which year). Seeing the old cars was better than the race.
