LOL, whenever a new plane comes out, the promo materials show a lounge, sleeping quarters, etc. As if any airline would ever give up all the revenue producing seats to offer those amenities.

EXACTLY! The wet bar on the upper deck of the first 747 didn't last the first year and the spiral staircase soon after. Here Airbus is talking about boutiques, McDonalds, gyms etc....on the A380. Airlines could care less about the experience in that respect. It's about seat cost per mile, the bottom line that counts..

Note, there are overhead crew quarters on both the 777 and 747 NOW. A small one up front, overhead for the flight crew and larger ones in the back for the attendents, above the stowbins. Midships on the 777 is a 6 holer and the aft crewrest will hold 8.

There is also a lower lobe crew rest on some models, an actual container in the cargo hold that is accessed from a closet on the main deck, complete with lights, heat, A/C, movies.

Needless to say, when you are flying one of those long trans-ocean flights, listen carefully ........................................

 

I have one on order. I'm getting this one with a 6-speed, since the Challenge version will only be built with an F1.

 

i want a 787... there all composite, ie carbonfiber, the windows are huge. the lights in the cabin change with the time zone. that makes it easer to adjust to the time changes when flying to Italy . i cant wait to fly one.
