I was the only one watching Hamilton cruise around this last weekend and wished the season was already over? There's no drama this year at all. The cars have no drama, the events are mostly boring tracks, the outcome seems "contrived" (will it be Roseberg or Hamilton!) We already know the answer to that. There's no question who will win. The other big teams are going to start working on next year. What's the point? What's been the point since the 5th race? Hamilton's asking if Merc won the Constructor's title while in his cool down lap was the final straw. Really? He's worried about Mercedes losing the title? Are both cars going to DNF from now until the rest of the season? Give me break. The only drama this year is 1) will it rain so we might actually see a decent race 2) will one of the Merc's breakdown so that we can see something other than Hamilton and Rosberg spraying champagne.
I'm looking forwards to Brazil and the US GP. I really like the 2014 and 2015 seasons without traction control, lower noses, less aero grip, more in the driver's hands.
I thought it would be good to allow new chassis and engines after summer break; ramp up the excitement like it is the first race of the year. Allow driver swaps at mid point also; drivers keep their points, teams keep their points. Might make something to look forward to in the second half of the season. No need for double points etc. to make the second half of the season exciting.
It was over by the time the circus reached Europe. The Mercs were already 20 bhp or so more than the rest, and with hardly testing and development allowed, it was genuinely between Ros and Hammi. I think this is the only season where i didn't see any hard racing at all. Just managing the fuel, brakes, and tyres.
I want to see if Ferrari can win a fourth, and then if Arrivabene will make good on his promise to run through the hills with no shoes on. T
Yes, please let it end. Just looking forward to 2016 pre season tests. Thanks development freeze, no in season testing and other cost cutting measures!!!
"Don't you just want this season to end?" posted by Fernando Alonso replies to ***[email protected] : )
It was over at the first race last year, not this, the merc was so far ahead the was no way to catch up with the ridiculous and pointless rules. 2016 won't be much different to this if we are unlucky, still dumb rules, Ferrari still a big step behind and with next to no testing, more likely we will get more of the same. F1 isn't a competition anymore
One thing we can hope for is that Ferrari is good enough next year to get ahead of Mercedes at starts; Merc always goes into full blown panic mode as soon as they're not leading the race, as does at least one of their drivers (the other one meddles about not really overtaking anyone and then at the end of the race say his only goal is to be beat the other guy, which he didn't do). Next year NO development tokens during the season. No good engine at the start = season over. Honda says they know where they made the mistake but can't fix it with tokens. I do hope they have an engine on a circuit simulation dyno running a million km this week already to make sure they have a decent engine next year!
There is still some fight for the 2nd and 4th positions in the drivers championships. Not very exciting but it´s better than waiting for the next season to start.
The season was ****, it was decided before the begining when Toto and NIki decided to han Elton the title....hopefully next year Seb will have a good enough car to blow Squirrelboy off the track.....
Ferrari needs to qualify better. That's mostly where their weakness is. If you don't get on the front row, it's just playing catch up. And to get on the front row regularly, they need a better car.
I watch every race don't matter what time it's being show on TV and never ever fall asleep whilst watching it but this year I've nodded off watching nearly every race Booorrring rock on 2016. lets hope F1 improves.
If not for that pirelli blow out at spa we'd still have a title fight on our hands, especially given mercs reliability of late. A season with 3+ ferrari wins is rarer than it should be, so I'm in no hurry for it to be over.
I enjoy every race where Hamilton scores another victory. Now that he passed Senna on the all time list he can move on to surpass others and by doing so writing F1 history. There isn't much of a thrill in the races this season but we are watching history in the making. Just as we did when we watched Vettel clinch one title after another. These are exceptional talents setting records for generations to come. PS: I'm not a Hamilton fanboy. I'm merely pointing out what a lot of people seem to miss on here. In fact if the roles were reversed (and Ferrari would be dominating the season instead of the Mercs), this thread wouldn't have even been started.
This season is history as Andreas points out. I am at times a bit bored and its not fun. That being said we do have some good racing in the back of the front row and if only more of that were up-front, of course that would be ideal. Looking forward to Mexico and the new track...
The "new" old track that is. I had a chuckle when somebody on here asked whether Tilke designed that one too. Hello!
As F-1 Seasons go it's not been the greatest most thrilling, but as a Ferrari Fan - certainly has been suprising. 3 victories and currently 2nd in championship... way better than last year. Sadly i'm not going to austin This year, but it will be a good race, and I'm interested to see what they have dont to the Mexican track...
Basically next season could be a repeat unless Honda can workout their issues and Ferrari can find a little more HP and handling. Also Mercedes could fall on their face.
