door chrome trim

Just had an email from dino parts,they are listing the chrome trim that runs across the top of the door for $160 I know there are a few people trying to source this part might be an option?

 

is it not stainless?

 

It depends, 206 & L's - brass, later ones, SS.

Thank you Iain, but these do not run across the top of the door. Possibly Possum got something else? I am really curious and in real need for the ones that run on top of door frame, up and then all around it. Number 40 on tav. 109

Id no 109-27a,alberto this is for the area adjacent to the outside door handle runs lenght of door,the one your after is not listed.With the right press Im sure it could be made.I have a small piece about half an inch long I could send you if you are in a position to have it made Im sure ther are others who may need this part.

 

If you are talking about the very thin chrome / SS strip that runs along the edge of the door itself, I need it too.

I have the parts offered on those pages.

 

They show that they have 109-40 but no picture,checked my parts book and is the item your after.

 

I too would like new ones for my gts

 

Graham, I contacted the guys in the UK that made the 'replica' Dinos, and said that when they would make a batch they would let me know.
They did not sound very interested...Possibly you could press them on it. They seldom answer the phone.

As far as Dino parts not showing any photos of the trim, makes me triple squeamish.
I do have sample, and one of these days I 'll try to have two wheel turned and see if anything comes out of it. The vertical Don't look too difficult , but the horizontal with curve, is another issue.

When you say "The guys in the UK that made the replica Dino's" who do you mean.....Do you mean the Deon from JH Classics? If you do i have a coincidental story to tell one day re them!

Graham, yes it is JH Classics, but just went back to their site and the part in question does not look anything like what we need.

The parts on the link are the horizontal chrome trims which are below the side window.
I have also one chrome trim which we are talking about from the top of the door if it would help for any reproduction.

Your picture /dinoparts showed No. 2, what most of the Dinos are missing is No. 40.

Hi Mark,
Should be LH and RH. I was looking at this last night and wondered if this was for the pair.
They are 1 piece, although a little fragile and originals are easily bent when removing or installing if not careful. I've not bought these from dinoparts but was looking at roof gutter trim, which they stock now.
