Hello, I recently purchased a 1988 328 GTS (Can be seen at another thread). The passenger side door has always been tough to close, you have to slam/push the the door to get it to close correctly, which is not good for any door. I gave it a slight jack adjustment, all body line and gaps are good. I adjusted the jam strike up a little bit, it seemed like it was hitting the alignment pin. Door still tough to close. I removed the door jam strike completely to look at the alignment and try to find the issue. With the strike not in place the door would not stay closed, I found that the door is getting bound at the front pillar. The weather stripping is compressed (see photos). The drivers side door weather stripping is not compressed. If I move the front of the door out the body lines will not line up. Any thoughts or help is appreciated. Check the Door hinge pins. Had to replace them on both my GTB/GTS QVs. Royal PITA to do without chipping the paint on the door but well worth the effort. Some of the best advice I've ever received here was, " don't get in a hurry".
is the door sagging ? you might find this thread helpful ... and scary http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-328-sponsored-yellow-compass-group/304298-328-door-sag-repair.html
