Door Ding...and the aftermath

It's rare in this world that someone would do what you did and get involved in a situation like that. The world needs more dudes to do good deeds like you did! Way to go!

Someone above mentioned getting a phony contact number. If you see someone ding your car and he/she gives you the wrong contact info (or none at all because he drives off) just get the plate number and call the police. This is called hit and run and it's a FELONY. The police will arrest and drag the guy to jail in handcuffs. That wakes 'em right up. He will be happy to pay for the ding in exchange for you dropping a felony charge against him.

I would have done it for just about anyone because i can't stand that crap. It just felt better to do it for an F-car owner as I LOVE F-cars and hope to own one someday.

 

I've had my car doors dinged before (mind you none of them were ferraris) and I can tell you that if I had ever once been there to see it happen (which is priceless) I would sure as hell call the inconsiderate careless bastard on it. From your comments I'm guessing you've dinged a lot of doors in your time...

 

I know that I read your comment correctly however did I misunderstand what you were saying?

Now if I misunderstood as many other must have please clarify however if I understood please do not park next to me. I would find your position as I understand it to be as much more than simply casual, I would call it rude.

A simple door ding innocently yet strategically placed can be the cause for not only a door but at least one adjacent panel having to be repainted (blended) too and then if the cost were not the concern then consider the inconvenience caused and the high probability that it will not match once repaired, this alone for me is the worst part.

Yes I circle the parking lots looking for that perfect parking space, walk greater distances, all because I care not only about my gal but the other person’s car too.

So I must ask again, did I truly understand your position to be that a ding is simply a ding, part of everyday life ….. no big deal?
