Does anyone know where I can buy these? I like it better than having paint chips on the edge Image Unavailable, Please Login
If you google 'door edge guards' those little plastic bits come up a lot, especially in a cf look ... if you must have the ones that say Ferrari you can always put stickers on them. Personally I would either ppf the door or at least the door edge ... those stick on black bits don't look very good imo.
I'd try this instead. XPEL (XPF0375U100) 3/8" x 100' Door Edge Guard https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NPMCASA/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_KbbIDbPA6JZ9J Sent from my Pixel 2 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I wish you could see all the battle scars my Ferraris collected over the years... You'll drive yourself crazy trying to enjoy a car and also keep it from getting banged up out in the real world. My vote is to just toss the gay little door protectors and wear your battle scars, broken bones and paint chips with pride! Ray
How about you use clean looking PPF instead of a sticker that belongs in Autozone? The other good alternative is to stop smacking the door of your $250K+ Ferrari into walls and cars.
You can buy 3M helicopter tape off eBay or amazon. It's pretty easy to apply. I actually use it on the bottom of my girlfriend's high heel shoes to protect the soles. It should be relatively easy to run down the edge of that door. Ray
Yeah, much better choice and far more protection. I hit my 360 side mirror on an orange highway pylon once, when someone almost ran me off the road. I was going 85+ and I thought it ripped the mirror clean off the car. Nope. The 3M film protected the factory paint no problem. Check YouTube for a comparison of clear bra films. They show some different ones and how they react to different things. You should be able to find like a small roll of 3" wide on eBay or some place for a very low cost. Then just follow the directions and apply it with water and heat and you'll be all set over there. Should look pretty slick. Ray
If you're car is white or a light color I would do ppf on the whole door. Otherwise dust and dirt collects in the seam where it meets the paint and you'll have a a black line running down the door.
Omit it instead of doing one whole door to avoid the inevitable wax/dirt line. Door edge chip are avoidable since its not someone else hitting you and you can choose where to park.
