ok - i know this is a niche question but ..... standard fitement on a 348 and 355 you have the VIN sticker and the tyre pressure sticker on the door jam by the intake grill.

I went to a ferrari show many years ago and one thing that always stuck with me was a sticker i saw that went along the lines of CAUTION HOT INTAKE KEEP FINGERS CLEAR. I'm sure it was a 348/355. I think its just the fact it was so completely different to a 'standard' car that you had to be carefull just getting into the thing without risking burning yourself !

Could someone help retain my sanity and say if they have ever seen such a label ? Maybe it was even off a different model that someone had put on a 348 / 355 ?

    Thanks in advance !

    Welcome! Interesting first post...

I can't say I've ever seen the label in question - although I usually don't notice them if they don't have a VIN.

It's my understanding that Middle Eastern automobile requirements are just as strict as the U.S., so maybe that label is affixed to UAE cars, and the car you saw was imported here from the Emirates. Hopefully someone else has a better response than my baseless speculation.

It IS possible to touch the radiator core on a 348 with the door open, but you have to stick your arm 12" into the air inlet. I've never heard of a warning sticker for this purpose.

I'm confident its some kind of personal joke much like the mirror that says "objects in the mirror are losing".

    hi, thanks for the replies.

I've only ever seen this label once, so i think you may be right - either a personal joke to the owner himself or its a label off a completely different model / make.

Militonian, like you say - you'd really have to reach in some to actually touch the rad core itself - so its not normally like you would come in to contact with anything hot.

I hadnt seen the objects in mirror are loosing, but i like that one ! :)

Nick, are you certain the car was a real Ferrari? Is it possible it was a competition model, or a street version modified to competition specifications? I appreciate that you saw this many years ago, but would you happen to have a picture of the car?
