I couldn't find anyone else who had much detail on the door lock removal and disassembly, so I took pictures to try to help the next person who does it. It's very easy. No need for a locksmith.

The large nut holding the lock requires a 31mm wrench. The door air intake shape limits access around it. I didn't have this size and was impatient, so I cut up another wrench to the correct 31mm, and a short length. A deep socket might work better, but you have to remove the ball joint on the lock and I was afraid to do this. Behind the nut is a spacer. On the outside of the lock is an o-ring to seal it against the outside of the door, and I assume to keep water out? I used a new black 15/16 X 1/16 o-ring.

Remove the "helper" spring on the outside of the lock. The purpose of this is to force the lock back to center while in the car. It just comes off with a flat blade screw driver. There is a small pin(maybe 1/16" diameter; forgot to measure) that holds the lock together. It pushes out easily. A little too easily, as some others have had it come out unintentionally. Once is is out, you can access the tumbler pins. I pulled all these out and left them out. I'm more worried about getting locked out than security. Lube with a top quality lube that will last 40+yrs and put back together.
