I have printed the plastic part using an engineering grade plastic 3D printer with some loops of carbon fibre embedded in it. the thread is cut using a die cutter. I don't know how good it will be but I am pretty sure that it will beat the rubbish nylon original. Here is a photo of the part (it needs shortening). Yes, indeed, but you probably don't need the metal parts which do not snap when you are fitting the lock.
