The felt like material on my drivers side door is worn and I'd like to replace it. Assuming I found the correct part on Ricambi, the entire rubber molding piece would have to be replaced and the cost is $500 plus labor. Anyone know a less expensive way to repair this?

I searched for alternatives as well, tried various cleaners etc. but the reality is that the suede-like material had rubbed off and the only proper way of remedying that is to replace it. Part numbers (for the spider) are 66328300 and 66328200, approx £225 each here in the UK (plus taxes etc.).

Edited to add that I'd be interested to know if replacing these is a DIY job - maybe money can be saved on labor?

I feel your pain on this one. My driver's side is missing felt also. Still a good amount there on mine, similar to your picture. My thought is that when the majority has gone away, it might coincide with the time to replace the seals anyway. My car is working on 11 years old this year.
