I made a cradle out of 2x4's with padding to support the door for removal and installation. It sat on my floor jack so I could take the weight off the door and manipulate it in small increments for hinge pin removal and installation. Worked great.

I would say not quite that easy. Depending how long the pins have in and if they were greased will make a huge difference. one of the last ones i did took a couple of days to get the pins out with a sledge hammer, a drift and heat. Most come out easier, 2 person job. I made a custom slightly bent drift to get the bottom pin out otherwise a good chance to bugger up the sill. I jack the car up a bit so you can get some leverage with the hammer. the other person hold the end of the door and wiggle it a bit. Top pin I use the same bent drift to avoid rubbing against the door. If the pins come out easy the job is easy!!

Thanks for the kind replies, but I am a little confused are they usually lift off or splines that need a slide hammer or punch?
    Thanks again

You just knock the pins out.
