    There's a seal on the front of the window frame that meets with the A pillar of the vehicle when the door is closed. The seal has a channel.. does it face the outside or interior of the vehicle?

    Does this photo help? Orientation looks to be the same as you have it. I have my doors fully disassembled but have not removed this seal just yet.

    Derek did you remove the small glass while the frame was in the car or you removed the complete assembly all together?

    Image Unavailable, Please Login seal faces outwards. I don’t think you’d be able to remove the quarter glass with the frame in the door, and I’d be confident to say you’d never get it back in the frame fitted to door, it was a real pain in the proverbial to refit the glass to the frames

    I removed every piece and part from the doors. Everything needs repainting and every seal needs to be replaced and window motors need attention. Small glass was separated from the seals after removing from the door. All glass cleaned, wrapped, and put away for safe keeping. Gonna be quite the process!

    I have powder coated mine and they came out really good. Used Columbia supper matt black powder.

    Excellent info......the Columbia super matt black powder has a light sheen gloss that matches the rest of the trim?

    Yes it does. It looks fantastic! I couldn't be happier. As a matter of fact I did the rear louvers as well.

    Derek there is a black o ring plastic seal by the lock cylinder. Is it on the outside of the door or inside? Thanks

    There’s a black plastic gasket that goes between the barrel and the door skin if that’s the one you’re referring to.

    Derek thank you so much!! Lot's of useful info. I have been doing exactly what you are doing. If you replace the motor cable, Birdman documented that the length of the cable is 10' 10". I did this on one side and things were extremely tight. I did the other side 1" longer and that really helped.

    Years ago I had to replace the window cables in my FIAT X1/9.

    The cable part was no longer available from FIAT, but a bit of lateral thinking had me heading to my local bicycle repair shop for a large coil of bicycle brake cable (I actually bought their entire stock of cable! :D)

    I had to create my own crimp pieces for the ends of the cable, and once done, the cable worked perfectly! :)
