Hi, here is the right sill of the car I bought yesterday: No way I'm gonna keep this horror on my car. So I know there is originals (prone to rust again) or carbon ones. I prefer the original look, but I don't want to change them every few years. and about the carbon ones, they are glossy. And to get out of my car in my little garage, I have to step on it as I can't fully open the door. I guess the glossy carbon sills will be scratched in no time. So, is there another alternative? Like plastic ones with mat rubber on them? Or is it only OEM or glossy carbon ones?
I have OEM ones powder coated in satin black with stainless inlay that says Ferrari. Sent using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I have replaced mine 7 years ago and they aren’t showing any signs of corrosion. Perhaps the new production method has improved in terms of coating. The finish is different to original it’s more matte than the original which has a slight sheen. I also use a blow dryer to remove as much water as possible from under the sill.
To prevent scratches cover the new sill with PPF. I just did that for one of my P cars and it works well.
i have carbon on mine 355. same issue getting out in garage and they are fine. any scratches can be sanded/buffed out. i had oem on my 348, they had been painted at some stage; satin black as mentioned above. again most marks polished out. personal preference!
