Our door switches are failling and after doing a search I cannot find the OEM 60054509 door switch nor can I find any of the Porsche 964-613-00-M100 that was listed as a sub. I know it's not a big deal to drill the hole larger and use a US switch but my preference is to try and keep it close to original. I will sub if I have to but if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. Lost

If anyone is interested there are some NOS door jamb switches on flea-bay for $50 ea. I can afford them but I'm an old school activist and all I can do is not buy them. I will install something else before I will allow scalping. I know, I know, supply and demand, if the guy gets fifty ea. for them more power to him but it won't be from me. Lost

They had all failed on my Mondial. I pulled them apart, used deoxit and sand paper on them, coated them with dielectric grease and they work great. I know they won't last forever but there was still a lot of metal left. They are simple mechanical switches. After two years they are going strong.

Yes Jim that is it but I need three! They went one at a time and they are not dirty the spade is held on by the center pin being rolled or braded over. The spades have fallen off and the small insulators are so brittle that I want to replace with new. I have found the FIAT switches and they appear to fit but they have a flange with an attachment screw. They will be here in two days so I will see how they fit and let everyone know. After reading some more posts these will not pass the judges but I drive her and show her only for fun. Lost

    F-car switches $50, Fiat 3.95 ?

Ok Lost, just let me know. I only have one. Love those Fiat prices!

On another note...I live in the Rockies and for months I have seen the little Fiat 500s doing altitute testing. Clever looking little cars! Can't wait for Alfa to come back to the USA!!

    Jim

PS: Read you profile - we have owned many of the same cars!

Thanks for your time Jim. As you said, we both have played with the same iron. We ended up with basically the same model 308. Do you enjoy it ,as I do, more than the others?
    Tom
PS Isn't the 500 FI? Still need an altitude test, interesting.

Love the 308. Wouldn't mind another XK Jag though. Keeping my eyes open.

Lots of manufacturers do altitude testing in the mountains here. All cars I have seen have been injected. Mount Evans seems to be a favorite spot for them - 14k feet and you can drive almost to the peak. Met some Bosch engineers there in an Audi A3 long before it came to the US market. Even saw an A class Mercedes up there and a Maybach. Lots of other stuff too. Usually easy to spot - big boxes on the dash, other cars from same manufacturer following.

End of story. The Fiat X19 door switches are of a better construction. However, they are not plug and play. First the spade must be bent 90 degrees, be sure to make a tight nearest the center bend or there will be interference between the spade and the rubber weather seal boot. Secondly the hole will need a couple of twists of the reamer to fit ( nothing drastic and third there is an ear on the Fiat switch witha hole for a screw. It works much better but it will loose you some points which is no concern for me. Lost

On the 328 the switches have an ear with a screw.

The Fiat crews were doing the Lyons to Estes run early yesterday. Clever looking car I think will be well received but not in the Robin's Egg Blue I saw.

I have seen the manufacturers running Trail Ridge Road in RMNP when Kris and I would go for an early morning weekend drive... back when I had a Red Car that ran.
