My driver side window seal is leaking air at the top rear edge of the glass with the window up. The rubber has folded under somewhat for about 6 inches, preventing the glass from going properly into the channel and sealing correctly. Has anyone else experienced this and what is the solution short of buying the entire door opening seal for somewhere around $1600? When closing the door, you can only get the window to go into the channel properly by putting pressure on the glass with fingers, as the glass closes the last inch or so. Any advice or experience is appreciated.

I've never had a perfect seal on any soft top of any brand of car that 10+ years old.

Post a pic of what you are describing. If I am not mistaken the seal is made kind of interesting. Check your other side also. I have a small wind leak on my passenger side that is attributed to the rubber around the tweeter. Check how that seals on both sides as there may be something there. My tweeter rubber has been stretched and I will have to buy a new one as I can't seem to get it to stay no matter how long I put it where it should be and close the door.

I have a couple of tired seals too. One area was pretty bad and I applied a drop of gorilla glue crazy glue and used some masking tape to hold it in place while it cured. Two months now still good. You'll need to use surgical precision of the glue, mask appropriately. Now that I am thinking about it some more I should have tried a heat gun first to make it more pliable and maybe reactivate any adhesive that was part of the original assembly.

Thanks guys, this is a coupe. Dan D. , I tried to get a good picture showing the problem but no luck. I checked the other door window, absolutely no problem with the seal, the glass goes into the rubber like it should, and there is no wind noise on that side. Kevin - I was thinking about trying some adhesive, with careful masking exactly like you suggested. I can apply the glue up in the gap between the seal and the body trim, then close the window up into the right position, then let the glue dry. I can wedge something like cardboard between the glass and the seal to help the rubber stick to the trim. Nothing to lose.

I think I fixed this exact thing pretty easily, I PM'd you. Please take a photo so I know if we are talking about the same problem. If we are, I can post a short video of the fix.
