    Sometimes when I download a video, I get the sound but no picture - all I see is the wavy/abstract lines. What am I doing wrong??? I believe most of the .wmv files work, but none of the video's on the 5th gear website work...

    You need the codec..... you can download it from DivX but I think they make you install a Google toolbar (which can then be uninstalled but it's a pain). You might also try downloading the latest version of Windows Media Player. Mine is version 10 and will play pretty much anything.
