A question for other 360 3 pedal guys regarding downshifting. My '03 360 spider with 11000 miles seems to be in perfect shape. The gear shift itself is slick and smooth. My problem lies with the "drive by wire" connection between the accelerator pedal and the engine. I experience an annoying lag between pressing the accelerator and a corresponding rise in engine revs. This is normally not a problem, but certainly is when a fast down shift is desired. Heel and toeing is very difficult and double clutching virtually impossible. All I can do is: 1. clutch in. 2. slow deep press on loud pedal. 3. down shift. Frustrating as heck.
I know that the F1 shift blips beautifully on down shifts. Has anyone else noticed this? Can the electronic linkage be speeded up? Thanks for any advice.

that's not normal. the 360 light fly wheel response really quickly to throttle blipping.

Richard- So this lag in throttle response is only on a trailing throttle? Sounds kind of strange. You do not feel it while coasting and then adding throttle or starting from a full stop? An SD2/3 can look at the digital throttle and see if there are any issues. On F1, the throttle linkage does not need to move to provide rev matching on upshifts or downshifts. You cannot feel those inputs through the throttle pedal.

Thanks for the input Terry, I should emphasize that there is actually no way that the throttle lag is intrusive except when trying to make a fast down shift.

There's not much information here but I don't think it's a clutch or gearbox problem. It could be the throttle position sensor or something in engine management.

Whatever the actual cause, it does not appear normal.

Bob- Affirmative, if I were Richard, I would have someone look at it with an SD2 preferably, and with an SD3 if they do not have the earlier tool.

Hopefully it is not the potentiometer (15), the most logical cause, but ~$400.

Hey did this ever get resolved? I have the exact same issue.

I really want to try fix it.

    Cheers,
