    I’m thinking of downgrading from my 99 355 F1 to a 2001 550 Maranello, which means I would have to sell the 355 sometime soon after because of lack of garage space.

    The 550 is a 13,000 mi. clean looking car, and I do love the 550, but I don’t know if I can stand to part with the 355, I’ve owned it since new.

    Is there a support group for the 355 withdrawal syndrome?

    Sorry to see the 355 go, but 12 up front is about the only thing I'd sell my beloved 348 for! When I think about the sound of 7500rpm from 12, I get goosebumps!

    The 550/575 is only post-Daytona front-engined Ferrari I find interesting. I guess it depends on how much you'll miss having a sports car. I've had some opportunities to sell my 328 and get something different, but that mid-engined V8 screaming through an open targa top is just more exciting than a quiet GT, IMHO.

    sell the 550....

    355 will only go up in price and has the better sound

    Have you checked the 355 prices lately???

    That alone would probably sway you to keep the car. If you bought it new you are going to feel like you are giving it away.

    You said you'd have to sell the 355 "sometime soon".
    When I bought my 348 almost 4 years ago, I was just going to drive it a little bit and sell it "sometime soon".
    Is that the same kind of "sometime soon"?

    I don’t know what I’m going to do. We’re leaving for China next week so I can’t get involved in a negotiation just now, and 355 prices are really down it seems.

    I’ll see what happens when I return in a month if the 550 is still available. If its not, no big deal as I like the 355.

    At current deltas it’s not financially palatable unless I sell the 355 privately.

    I wish I had room for both, but that’s simply not an option.

    Funny thing is dealers are asking outrageous prices for cars, and if you look on eBay at completed listings for 550s out of 16 cars listed there hasn’t been even one sold.

    Anyway, soon I’m off for three weeks of sightseeing and golf in China.

    I’ll deal with it when I return………….or not……….shrug
