I drove through Portland a little over a week ago in the middle of the night. Here are some pics of a showroom that I spotted that didn't appear to have any clear markings as to what it was. Didn't really look like a dealership, more like a small museum or something. Can anyone tell me what this place was?

Looks like Monte Shelton's Museum just off Burnside.

Yup. If the checkered flooring didn't give it away, the name on the racer's roof certainly does.

Thank you. It was just a block away from their Jaguar showroom if I remember correctly.

He has some nice stuff in the shop behind the showroom as well. If you want a great weekend volunteer like I do for the Monte Shelton NW Classic Road Rally. 500 miles over two days. Great NW event. this year is the 20year anniversary, and it's great checking out all the old classic cars in the rally. You have to have a pre-74 car and it's a tsd so I just volunteer to help. GREAT GREAT WEEKEND. PM me if you want info or check it out at the local alfa club website.

You may not know who this Monte Shelton fellow is, being from Alaska. He is somewhat of a local hero in Portland and the local Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar dealer. He races these vintage cars often at PIR. I have had the privilege of being blown away by one of his Porsches at local regional events. He raced in Trans Am for many years, but usually only in west coast events. He gets involved in a lot of civic and charitable events in Portland. The number 58 is a Porsche 928 built to run at Le Mans, etc. He also has a 917 in the museum there somewhere. A couple of years ago he staged his arrival at the pre-grid for a race with a nurse pushing a wheelchair equipped with an oxygen bottle out to his car and helping him inside. He is older than me, but he is in great shape.

    Number 58 is, of course, a 962C, not a 928.

    It's serial number is 962C-118.

Didn't he run the 962 in the Rose Cup a couple of years ago? Or at least talk about it?
