For all you Drag Racing fans out there. Texas motorplex is having the Outlaw cars on August 18th. These cars are factory bodied door slammers running the 1/4 mile in 6 seconds and the 1/8 mile the the 4s, through mufflers. There is no limitation on engine size or modification, most are large cubic inch blown alcohol nitrous motors putting out 2000+ horsepower.If you have never seen these cars they are amazing. A few of you have already expressed interest so here is what I was thinking. We can gather at my house for a few pre race beverages between 5:30pm-7:00pm. We will leave about 7:00 to get in the stands by 8:00. I am near the 75 and George Bush area (PM for directions) if you cant make it for the pre-race festivities meet us at the track at 8:00. These same cars run the 2nd Friday night of each month at Texas Raceway in Kennedale. I saw some of them go into the high 3's at near 180 mph last month. Kennedale is an 1/8 mile track. They are a lot of fun to watch launch and accelerate like nothing short of a top fuel or fuel funnycar. Kennedale runs regular bracket racing every Saturday night and have very good turnouts of cars with very few spectators. Plenty of room to roam and take it all in. Lots of 4 second runs and if you want to run your own car that you drive on the street you can (for free). I cannot make it to the Motorplex, but I wish I could. You guys have fun...... Yellow Belly????? Body armor and an automatic rifle to go there. I will stay away from that place.......
