I feel like this is a silly question, but I haven't found the answer. There are 3 hoses which pass through the tray under the F430 not too far from the front-right wheel. Assuming 1 is for AC condensate, not sure what the other rubber one and third corrugated one are for.

Trying to figure out if I have a leak or just something overflowing. Fluid is somewhat ambiguous. My current vote is for coolant since not seeing anything leaking with the belly pan off.

    Thanks

One of them is for gas overflow, that much I know.

The corrugated tubes drain the channel under the wipers. There is one on the left that is close to the radiator The coolant overflow tube is central towards rear of panel about 1/2 diameter hose. A/C evap drain is between front wheel and passenger floorboard. There are 2 large drain tubes on each side in rear about an inch in diameter that drain the engine panel channels. That is about all the ones that I know of, There may be more.

The battery vent might be one, ac drain, drain from the area around the cabin filter/ brake fluid tank area.

@mike32 Thanks for reminding me of the battery drain... been a while since I have needed to remove the battery and forgot.

Still struggling to figure out what is leaking since it isn't anything which should come out those hoses...

All I can figure is maybe I have a small leak of coolant when the system is under pressure and it is just enough to pool a bit and drip off the edge of the tray while cooling down after a driver. Pic attached shows the evidence of something leaking to allow dirt to collect in that area on the tray.

Coolant was replaced less than 1k miles ago, so I would hate to have to dump it to do a vacuum test as first step. Thinking I will let it heat up until the fans turn on while I have it up on the lift and see what I find. Does that make sense?

Are you sure it’s not just condensation water stains from the A/C? Are you seeing actual fluid on the ground?

Pressure test the cooling system. A vacuum test is great to show you have a leak but you still have no idea where. If you find fluid, taste it. You'll know right away what it is.

@Rifledriver Thank you! That makes too much sense and a lot smarter than risking hot coolant spraying out... (and now I get to add a pressure tester to my collection). What PSI should I hold it at?

And part for fun/part serious... the chart on what the assortment of fluids taste like? Assuming coolant is sweet...

The under tray by the bumper is easy to remove and you can see things from there

If it tastes like water its AC condensate. If it tastes like what is in the coolant tank its coolant. The only thing that comes out of the battery breather is hydrogen.

I was able to pressure test and held 15psi no pressure loss for over 30min.

It may just be condensate that mixed with whatever was on my rough garage floor. I’ll keep a clean piece of cardboard under it for a bit.

    Thanks all!
