Hello all... Trust you're doing well. Just wanted to share that I've finally acquired my dream Ferrari. It's a 1989 328GTS that was located with only 409 miles on the odometer. Its essentially been stored over these years. I drove it as my own for the first time today. It's now got 438 miles. I will drive it more as well to properly break her in. She's a black on black beauty...exactly what I've always wanted. Everything was inspected and checked out. It's been a pleasure reading all your posts as they've been most helpful. Do take care and enjoy your respective rides. WSPi. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Holy jaw dropping sh$#!!! Consider taking it to the Cavallino Classic in Pebble Beach next Summer...you'll be able to bring enough trophies and ribbons home to decorate your whole garage!
Holy Time Capsule Batman Congrats on the car, it's not often you get to actually break in a 19 year old car!! Enjoy it!
All, Many thanks for all the kind words. Like I said, the Ferrari community is full of good people. My family and friends have all been most supportive in my automotive endeavor. A very good friend, Don H., was the most instrumental person in helping me with this find. It wouldn't have happened without his guidance. He has been helping me look for this car for the longest time and the patience has been rewarded. He called it perfect and he was exactly right. My thanks also go to Kulu P. for his resources in handling the car. Richard N. of Ferrari has truly made it an incredible experience as his service and representation of Ferrari has been exemplary. Overall, their professionalism is unmatched. Again, thanks for the kind words and I hope to see you on the road. Take care and drive safe. WSPi.
Threads like this make my day. I mean, the low mileage part sucks, but the fact that you're going to awaken it to the world is great. Plus, I can only imagine the joy of finally acquiring your dream car. Congratulations to you - I hope we never see you here (because you're always out driving your dream car!) But don't go, yet - let's see some more pictures first.
Congratulations. Great colour for a 328 Some detailed pictures of the car, engine, interior etc would be great from a car with only 400miles on.
Congrats! I hope you had a PPI and I hope the belts have been replaced w/in the past several years. All of the rubber bits on the car tend to crack and dryrot.
Looks wonderful. Like it was said check the rubber. Those fuel hoses could easily be cracked and dumping fuel or fumes into the HOT engine compartment. Congrats!!
It's amazing...the passion is truly there amongst you all... I've attached a few more photos. Not the best pics, but these were taken before I made my decision. I plan to take more photos on my own...lots of them for my record of ownership. The car was recently appraised (for insurance purposes) and lots of hi-res pics were taken at that time. I'm in the process of getting those too. Point taken on the service (by Owens84QV). Everything was checked out by the local Ferrari service center with an OK to go as the 30K was recently done. Will be taking her in this coming spring for fluids and a full service will likely follow in the near future. I do plan to drive this gem on the occasion to keep things moving and lubed. It will be handled with the utmost of care. My next few weeks will be to detail it properly and bring out the shine even more. My appraiser and I debated whether the car should even be driven. Well...it will be as the value of the car is in my pride of ownership. Whether its this car or yours (Ferrari or otherwise)...do enjoy them in good health as you never know we may come across each other on the road. Thanks again to all of you. Seen some nice pics of 3x8 engines on this site. However that's the neatest alignment of fuel injection lines I can remember. So that's how Ferrari did it! Beautiful detail.
Congratulations ! Very nice 328. don't forget to "register" your s/n other other 328 thread in this section.
Congrats, and nice find! I'm sure it commanded a handsome figure! I would not know whether to drive it a couple times/mo to maintain/increase it's value and buy a driver, or just drive it!
